A MOTORCYCLIST'S helmet camera captured the moment he was held at gunpoint and ordered off his bike by a thief who was then shot by police.

The video, captured in Brazil and posted on LiveLeak (http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=06f_1381668990), begins with the motorcyclist riding on a dual carriageway.

As he stops at a junction, a second bike pulls up in front of him and the pillion passenger grabs his handlebar and points a gun in his face.

The victim immediately drops his bike, which looks like a Honda Hornet.

The armed thief picks it up and, just as it looks like he’s going to get away, a police officer emerges from an unmarked car on the other side of the road and shoots him twice.

According to LiveLeak user who posted the video, the thief later died from his injuries.
