View Full Version : Chirping from front wheel

My 2009 Ninja with 400 miles has developed an annoying chirp/squeak in the front wheel. Almost like the wheel is slightly out of round and just makes contact with something on one small part of the revolution. Applying the brakes doesn't necessarily stop it. I notice it between 15 and 30 mph but it doesn't always do it.

I'd put it up on the center stand and rotate the wheel, but it doesn't have a center stand. I'd like to solve this without investing in a stand/jack/whatever. Any ideas?

Sounds somewhat similar to this thread (http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=11686).

it's most likely the speedo seal. Put a drop of motor oil around where it meets the axel and it should go away.

WD-40 fixed it. Thanks. :)
