Hey all! I've decided as a project to upgrade all the lights on the Ninja 300.There are 10 lights that need replacing:

Low-beam Headlight (H7)
High-beam Headlight (H7)
Left City Light (T10)
Right City Light (T10)
Left Front Turn Signal (BAU15S)
Right Front Turn Signal (BAU15S)
Left Rear Turn Signal (BAU15S)
Right Rear Turn Signal (BAU15S)
Tail/Brake Light (1157)
License Plate Light (T10)

Here's what I have planned:

Replace License Plate Light w/ LED
Replace Tail/Brake Light w/ LED + Modulator
Replace Turn Signals w/ LEDs + Relay
Replace City Lights w/ LEDs
Replace Headlights w/ HIDs

This thread is where I'll track my progress. I plan to post video tutorials on how to install the lights in case any of you so desire. I'll also post pictures comparing the OEM halogens to the LED replacements. I also plan to link the bulbs that I use so that we can keep a database of the LED equivalents to the Halogen OEM bulbs, unless there is a rule about posting links to outside sites. Hopefully this thread will prove to be helpful to a few members.

I should receive my first order of lights by the end of the week, so stay tuned!

The city lights are the two corner lights found in the headlight. They are whitish/blue in this picture from BKMOTO.

UPDATE:

So these LEDs (http://www.amazon.com/Jtech-BAU15S-Yellow-Signal-Light/dp/B00D38O0IO) that I bought for the turn signals arrived today. They don't fit the turn signal housing, although you can screw the cover closed with them installed. The cover pushes the bulb further into the assembly than it naturally wants to go. The LED bulb is not nearly as bright as the halogen, though the light does look cleaner.

LED vs. OEM
http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z216/dudelike89/300/LED1vsOEM.jpg
As you can see, the OEM on the right side is brighter than the LED on the left. I doubt that an LED bulb the same size as the halogen bulb will be able to fully match the output of a halogen, but we shall see.

Speaking of LEDs the same size as a halogen, I did manage to find another Amber LED bulb (http://www.amazon.com/Light-Bulb-Lamp-BAU15S-Amber/dp/B00AT9B8CG) that uses fewer, but more powerful LEDs and is the same size as the OEM bulb. I will be ordering a couple of these to test in the near future. I think those LEDs may work better than the ones I have currently because it will be sending out the light at nearly the same position in the reflectors as the OEM bulbs. That should, in theory, make the bulb reflect more light back to you making the turn signal look brighter. Also, the fact that it's nearly the same size as OEM means there will be no issues fitting the bulb in the turn signal housing.

More lights are still to arrive.

This should be helpful for some folks. A couple of weeks ago, I ordered some replacement H7 headlight bulbs. Ultimately, I want to go HID, but figured brighter halogens at the moment would be safer. I have a video of the process of replacing the headlight as well as a video comparing between the two headlights while in use on the road.

I replaced the factory bulbs with Philips CrystalVision Ultra bulbs.

The Philips bulbs are definitely brighter. I was able to look at the factory headlights, but I can't with the Philips. The Philips definitely send out more light. Whether or not that light is projected farther, I'm not so certain. I didn't adjust the reflector positioning in any way, but I swear it looks to light up a bit farther IMO.

Update:

Received and installed the license plate LED (Found Here) (http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-PCS-Xenon-White-Wedge-T10-20-SMD-LED-Light-bulbs-W5W-2825-158-192-168-194-12V-/261319520519). It looks WAYY cleaner than the halogen. Easiest mod you'll ever do on the 300. You can buy any LED you want, just make sure that it is a T10 base and that it will fit with the light cover installed on the bike.

I got around to installing the brake light LED and the modulator. All in all, the job took me about an hour and a half. I was busy making a tutorial and making mistakes. :D

I'm sure some of you will find this useful! The video is kind of long, but if you watch the whole thing, I guarantee you will know exactly how to do this mod.

You should do a comparison between your stock lights vs your new HIDs.

I had a problem getting the clip off the head light bulb. Your video does not show how the clip works.

I found this.
