Let's try this again. April 18th, North Georgia Mountains. Plenty of time to get it on your schedule. Who's in?

There are some truly great roads there. Where will you/y'all be coming into Georgia? We'll try to make a good equitable meeting spot, and plan a route from there.

I'll be in Vegas but I thought I might post a video link from a Versys rider from N. Georgia. There a like 60 different clips from WilliamT over at advrider.

Have fun and be safe.

I tried a couple of videos, and they wouldn't load, but I know some of the areas by the titles. Blood Mountain will probably be part of our ride in April. 129 connects it to Helen.

TnNinjaGirl... you ever ride the Old Copper Road on the Ocoee or Hwy 30 through Reliance?

Hahaha, funny guys.

If I don't have my military obligations that day, I am IN.

TnNinjaGirl
March 30th, 2009, 06:09 AM
I'll probably end up coming down 129 to get to GA. I don't think I've ever ridden hwy 30 or Old Copper Road. Most of the time I keep my eyes closed so I'm not ever sure where I'm at.

Anyways, no plans for exactly where I'll be entering GA, it will be from the North, though, I can assure you that. I'm up for more of a hike if it makes it easier on some other people.

This looks like a Suches run. Lunch at T.W.O.

sounds like a fun ride -- i have no clue what that weekend looks like for me, but i'll chime in closer to the 18th to confirm.

T.W.O needs that one sign in VA that has the rider on the handlebars :D

129. Hmmmmm. Meet at Neals Gap (Walisi Yi), or Sunrise Grocery, and head across Wolf Pen Gap to Suches. Plot a route from there to Helen maybe. Unicoi to Hiawassee... Endless possibilities.

How about... you make the plans, and I show up. It's all the same as far as I'm concerned. So far it just looks like us though, so if anyone has any ideas, chime in.

Gonna be a long day. I might get myself a hotel room to save the sanity.

I'm certain I'll be there overnight. I'm free all weekend, and I am going to make the most of it. If the roads are dry, I'll probably stay at my Dad's vacation cabin in Ellijay. It's up a dirt road though. and if it's too muddy, there's Blood Mountain Cabins http://www.bloodmountain.com/index.php (on 129) which I like a lot, and there's always Helen.

TnNinjaGirl
April 1st, 2009, 03:39 PM
Those cabins look great, if only I had some friends. Jimi, fix your dang bike(s)!!

sm0kediver
April 1st, 2009, 03:43 PM
They're two bedroom, and have room for one more on the couch. I'd go in with some other folks. The only drawback is there really isn't anywhere to eat nearby. Sunrise Grocery is down the mountain though, and the cabins have kitchens. Can't haul too many groceries in a tank bag...

I got a tail bag and a backpack. I've been to college, I can survive on just about any type of food, or lack thereof. Dibs on a bedroom!!

sm0kediver
April 1st, 2009, 03:49 PM
Dibs on the loft bedroom :p

IF the weather actually looks good when we get there, I'll reserve one. They usually have some vacancies.

Yay for Ramen Noodles

If I wasn't so far away I would join you all. It sounds like a fun trip and a great way to spend a birthday.

sm0kediver
April 2nd, 2009, 04:56 PM
Oh come on. It's only 674 miles from there to here. You could do that in one day ;)

My longest trip in one day was abought 600 miles to Pine Bluff, Arkansas. My but was sore and I walked like a cowboy for about a half hour.

April 3rd, 2009, 04:42 PM
Ouch.

Some genius at work scheduled a function on Saturday the 18th. Nuh uh. Ain't happening. I begged off. I'm going riding that day.

TnNinjaGirl

lol, I feel ya. My family scheduled some stuff for my birthday that weekend i'm trying to get out of. I'll let you know how that goes.

sm0kediver
April 3rd, 2009, 04:52 PM
If it's raining cats and dogs, I won't go.

If the fuel companies go on strike, and there's no gas at the pumps, I won't go.

Otherwise... I'll be in the North Georgia mountains that weekend :jumping20:

If the weather on the 18th is anything like the weather yesterday, it's going to be a good time. I finally found a tank bag big enough for a weekend trip too...

April 5th, 2009, 04:24 PM
I'll probably make it, but not spending the night.

if I decide to go up to the dragon on the 18th, I probably won't make this.

TnNinjaGirl
April 13th, 2009, 07:09 PM
Oh, now I feel bad. lol. I won't be able to make it. I have to stay close to the family for the next few months due to illness in the family. Also, everyone decided they were going to celebrate my birthday on different days so I have to attend birthday stuff from Thursday to Sunday. Poor me... hehe

I'm West of Atlanta, but spend a good bit of time around Ellijay. I ride a Harley these days, but I still ride with Ninjas sometimes. Let's ride.
