Define touring...

I have Tourmaster bags that include 2 large capacity saddlebags, one tail bag that I use all the time as a weekender, then I have a tankbag that includes a smaller bag that attaches to the top.

The tank area is so small however, that the dual bag doesn't ride well, so I tend to just use the smaller bag as seen here:

Here is a pic of the larger tankbag on my old Buell, and you can see the edge of the tailbag behind me:

The saddlebags on the other hand are great for the left side of the bike, but rest right on the exhaust on the right. Once I figure out something else I can put the saddlebags to work, though honestly, I probably won't need more then the smaller "Sportbike" bags from Tourmaster.

Another alternative is the Ventura Pack:http://www.ventura-bike.com/fitments.aspx?modelid=971

Its a bit on the pricey side, but you get the properly fitted rack, a 51L bag that can also be worn as a back pack and the rack is sturdy enough that now you have a grab handle to move the back end of the bike around easily. It is possible to also put a second bag hanging off the back, but I wouldn't recommend it. It would hold a small 2-man tent strapped there well, and that I would recommend.

Overload? heh, I like to tour! Been known to get up, and go 350 miles for no more reason then to just get breakfast on the beach :)

I did this mod the other day:
http://www.kawiforums.com/showthread.php?t=105600

Got a rear seat off ebay for $25 and bought the JC Whitney trunk. Removed the seat cover; drilled mounting holes for the locking bracket.

What I did different was to replace the stock foam and cover...then flipped it over and drilled through the foam and seat cover using the holes I made in the seat backing.

Then mounted the mount plate onto the top of the seat...then add the trunk....then drive to the store and buy a 12pk of beer and place it in the trunk...ride home, crack open a brew, slap the ol' lady on the ass, turn on cops, and scratch your junk.

You see now see the importance of this mod! Oh, I can also pack my lunch for work too, and other things I suppose.

That's pretty nice right there

The rear seat doesn't seem to be very secure to begin with... no concerns about the weight/wind taking it off?

It is made for a person to sit on so I figured what the heck!

Now, there was a little side to side slop. I placed pieces of weatherstripping inside the trunk. Four total; where the seat contacts the bike frame inside the trunk. This really helped.

The other tip is putting the seat w/mount plate onto the bike...then put the trunk on last. I should take pics I know, but...

lol... I have mine set to Webster time so I sleep when you do. That way it looks like I'm always awake to you. Never know when you'll be sending me a PM for help. ;)

I'm calling shenanigans...you're a ninja who sleeps with his eyes open:eek:.

I'll try to get picks later, but today is rare. I can count on 1 hand how many times I have had to watch my daughter in the last 14 months...today is one of those days. She is napping I am typing quietly as not to awaken her.

If I want my camera, I would have to sneak pass her room...OH NO MY BROTHER...not trying that. Pics to come after nap time is over...hoping that is when Mama gets back home.

4 white corners are weather stripping where seat makes contact.

I am interested in a tailbag for my Ninja 250R (2010 model) and have zeroed in on the Platinum Series Elite Tail Bag (soft luggage) from RJays Australia.

Here is a link to the bag on the RJay's website : http://rjays.com.au/home/products/lu...tail-bag.html#

The bike that is shown on this website (with the bag) has the "holder" on both sides to fasten the straps of the bag, but the ninja does not have any such "holders". Please see below images for reference.

Please let me know how can this bag be fixed / secured on to the ninja 250R using the existing straps of the tailbag.

Awaiting your reply.

Thank you.

New gen tie down point are the hooks right under the passenger seat area and little triangles on the passenger peg brackets. Ignore the red circled part in this pic that was used to point out the flasher relay. :)
