Here's mine, and probably the most common one I've seen - Progrip tank protector. Can probably pick it up at any bike store...

Does anyone use the grips on the side of the tank? Its meant to help people grip the tank with their knees or something.

I do use stomp grip on the 10R. It helps your knee/leg get a better grip on the tank as you lean off, and also if you are squeezing the tank while decelerating. Don't have any on the ninjette yet, and actually can't remember seeing it on any ninjettes yet either.

Most of it is hidden under the leather tank bra, but here's a pic:

I went directly through a-tech. It uses double stick adhesive strips that you have to strategically place yourself. I positioned it all screwed up at first and so I bought more adhesive and redid it until it was perfect. I don't remember the exact price but I think it was around $70 or so...Its basicallly a hunk of CF custom molded for the 250 tank shape.

Jael- if you're putting on an a-tech style one then 3m adhesive will work. You just have to play around with the placement before you put it on to figure out exactly how you want it and to try to eliminate as many gaps as possible. When applying it I found it works best if you press on the top first and keep applying pressure as you go down to keep it as flush as you can.

The closest one to stock height is the double bubble, but the shape of the windscreen is a lot more rounded. The sport touring one is a lot higher than the DB.I think there is a DIY thread on a double bubble install and there is a shot comparing the double to the stocker.

green w/ pink goes well together... early nineties kx bikes.

where did you get the "ninja" sticker from? I've been wanting to change mine, too, but want to change the tank decal also.

I got it from Fast Decal
http://www.fastdecals.com/
They shipped very fast but no instructions on how to remove old ninja sticker, but I found that a hairdryer worked great. No sticky stuff left behind.:D

Theres nothing wrong with doing this unless your not thinking about how it will look with all the other stuff u already have put on it. he just keeps doing this over and over. Its kinda sad actually because he doesnt get it. He ends up turning his cars into freak shows instead of the good looking autos he himself admires. I just wiped tank clean then put the tank pad on while bike was in my Basement which stays pretty cool.. Then worked out as much of the air bubbles as i could. Then brought the Bike outside to sit in the sun and let the tank pad heat up and Soften and i was able to then remove 99% of the air bubbles.. Most people who look at my bike up close ask me where in got the paint matched Tank Pad...:D

I think clear tank pads are the best-looking option, if you do a nice application. :) Thanks for the tip about smoothing it out after letting it sit in the sun. I'll try that.

No I got scraps 3M vinils that look like CB and place on the botton part of the tank... than with a pencil and ruller I draw how it was supost to look like... Than very carfully I cut of the parts I did not want... Than I place another scrap from the tank cap to the bot... same thing ruler and pencil how i want it and cut it of...
Only did it once... Very easy to do but u got to be VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY carful not to do a deep scrachs on the tank... some scrachs u polish of but u got to go very light on the knife... I will do more vinils soon on my bike than i post how i did... KKK:thumbup:
