Today’s Weekend Awesome video was inspired by American Honda’s surprise decision to import the (http://blog.motorcycle.com/2014/02/04/motorcycle-news/2014-montesa-honda-cota-4rt-repsol-edition/) 2014 Montesa Honda Cota 4RT Repsol Edition trials race replica to the U.S.

For those unfamiliar with motorcycle trials, the sport features riders on extremely lightweight motorcycles navigating obstacle courses without putting their feet on the ground. The sport requires incredible balance and fine control over the brake, clutch and throttle.

The Cota 4RT is a replica of the competition bike of Repsol Montesa Honda factory riders Toni Bou and Takahisa Fujinami. Bou is far and away the biggest name in his sport, with an unprecedented 14 world titles. Bou has won every outdoor Trial and indoor X-Trial world championship since 2007. The Catalan racer also led Spain to five consecutive outdoor Trial de Nations championships from 2005-2009 and three indoor championships in 2006-2008.

Today’s dose of Weekend Awesome is a highlight package of Bou from the 2013 FIM X-Trials World Championship.
