Thanks guys. I just rolled in from another day at the Dragon. Speeds increased a bit more and got some pointers from the regulars up there. Killboy was taking photos so I'll have to see what they come up with. I highly suggest anyone who has a bike to come check it out. Met some people from Orlando, FL today. They rode the whole way. Another guy from Athens, GA was there too on a black Katana 600. There's hotels and camping, check it out.

Dang CB. You're getting so much experience on the dragon I may not be able to hang with you!

Probably not, but I'll see you at the store for some sandwiches when you roll in (j/k). 3507 miles in 101 days of ownership. Been to the dragon ~10 times this year. Ridden it a total of ~20 times. So... 20 x 318 (curves) x 2 (from the overlook to the store and back) = 12,720 curves.

I'm doing decent on most of the curves but i'm still having problems with the extreme switchbacks. I still turn my wheel in instead of countersteering. I know I get low bc my chicken strip is only about a 1/4 inch, and my knee is just barely off the ground with my shoulder thrown into it. I guess i'm still scared of those turns. I'd like to have someone take some pictures in those turns so I can see what I'm doing wrong.

Otherwise... Last time I went I was winding out 2nd and using the low part of 3rd. This time up I was in the mid and high 3rd gear. So from about 25mph around corners to about 35mph around corners. I'm still only doing about 20 in those severe switchbacks.

CB, try to get some leathers with knee protection if you don't have it already. I believe in you but you gotta be careful. Just speaking from experience. Your doing amazing though!

What a sweetheart, Chris. As far as brands vs price goes is it better to go all out and get a Dianese or an A* or see if I can find something like a Joe Rocket or AGV?

You know.... one piece leather suits are nice, but personally I like the two pieces that zip together. They are sure a lot less expensive and if you're like me who needs a small jacket and a medium sized pant, they're perfect. I do like that Dainese one-piece though.

The Joe Rocket pants I have, have thick CE armor in the knees. They actually make it quite difficult to slide them on over a pair of jeans. I don't think they'd have the problem with a little knee draggin around a mountain though the knee pucks would be better, but probably not enough to justify the major investment in a one-piece. Just my two cents.

If I could get a one-piece at close to the price I paid for the two-piece I wear I'd probably get one myself -- that'll never happen though.

Just get the pants with the knee pucks in them and save the money you'd spend on that one piece. :)

Keep in mind a Quality one piece suit is built for riding and not for walking much.

most will want you to hunched a little like a monkey when walking. Look for built in stretch material in the creases

i vote for pants with knee sliders, unless you're planning lots of track days.
save you some money and get you a camera too. (i think i read that somewhere)

This is kinda off the subject of "pics of girls on bikes" but as for me I have shoping for gear online. You never know whether its going to fit right. I try to do research online and then find a bike shop that caries it.
They tend to be quite a ways away so it makes a good excuse for a road trip.

Sounds like she needs some Quality Time. A good wash with lots of suds and a wax rub down will make her feel a whole lot better.
It sure helps my baby feel better and she shows me a good time afterwords......on our ride.

Thanks! I love his R1... I wish I could afford the black/gold R6. We would really match, then! hehe The white bike is an 08 VFR... his momma's. We also had an '08 R6, and a 954 CBR with us. Fun fun funnnnnnnnnnnnnn!! :D

hehe, I don't trust myself on the R1. I'm still trying to master the 250. He's more than welcome to ride my baby any time. David's a great rider. I've learned everything I know from riding with him as his passenger the past couple of years. I'm sure in a little while I'll upgrade but more likely to an R6 before the R1. I'm progressing each time I go out... can't wait until the next set of curves!

It seems right. I am going to fix my other baby up. It needs a new coupler in the supercharger, I need to beef up the tranny, fix the misfire, maybe get a new cam and more boost and I will be ready to rock in the cage! :thumbup:

Jamey, I'm always down to ride with some other ladies. I get a lot of looks on my own, can only image what it would be like with two or three other ladies. I happen to like Spyders. Hope the Spyders aren't afraid of Ninjas. I promise to be good(ish). I'll be there, just let me know when and where.

We have someone sit in the middle of a corner on the side of the road and catch the action. Some curves are more aggressive than others. Some curves are also taken by the local photographers. They don't mine if you occupy their corner, I just try not to get in their way. It is their living afterall. Otherwise the photographers (Killboy, Moonshine Photo, US129 Photo and Zee Photo) are all very nice people and generally love to chat. Thepro pictures are obviously better, they are all fairly proced as well.

I'm not sure if your group director talked to any of the photographers but if not I cn talk to Darryl Cannon of Killboy and see if he will get a group shot of all the Spyder's at the Overlook or down at the store.
