When installing my new clutch lever I was rushing and broke off the little "nipple" that gets pushed in when you squeeze the clutch lever, any idea on where I can get a new one?

Do you mean this thing?

If so, that's the Switch, it's part number 27010-1094, and they can be picked up at places like Bike Bandit, Kawasaki Parts House, even PartsNinja may have one.

You don't really even need it though. I broke mine off as well when I changed out the lever. IIRC it's used so you can't start the engine in gear unless clutch is pulled. So no switch means you just start engine in neutral.

Actually the other way around,

The purpose of the clutch safety switch is to make it so you can't start the engine in gear unless the clutch is pulled in. This keeps the bike from getting away from you when you try to start it. It also, in tandem with the sidestand switch, prevents riding away with the sidestand down.

Speaking of this little guy, is it safe to clip these down a little? My aftermarket levers don't let it depress fully, so I can only start it in neutral. Trimming it a little won't make it think the clutch is always pulled in will it?

Hi there,

I have a bag full of these if you still need one.

$10 shipped or I can throw one into the box if you purchase any item that is more expensive.
