I'm right around 50 miles on my new toy and am staring down the barrel of the first oil change. I'm thinking about getting a magnetic drain plug like the ones here: http://www.magneticdrainplug.com/motorcycle.html

I'm thinking that the plug would be especially useful during the break-in period to collect metal shavings and whatnot. At any rate, I don't think it could hurt. I'm told they are reasonably available from auto parts stores.

Do you guys have a take on these things? Worthwhile? Snake oil?

It looks like she takes an MP-01.

I don't think it would hurt. Cars usually have magnetic ones. Transmission use them or a magnet in the pan itsself. Go for it.

like CB said... it can't hurt, but make sure the one you get is a quality product and that the magnet can't come loose and become a problem in the case. :(

Go for it. Every little bit of protection helps.
