Just bought a 2008 Ninja 250r yesterday and I pick it up Monday! I'm usually pretty active on forums in general so I am sure you will see me quite often.

Little background about me:

I'm 26 and I've lived all over Southern California included Ontario, Temecula, and most recently Downtown San Diego.

I had a CBR 954 (yes my first bike, kinda going backwards right?) about 5 years ago that I had to get rid of at the time to help purchase a car. The bike was my only means of transportation and just wasn't practical for me at the time. Riding an hour on the freeway in the rain after losing a glove sucks by the way!

As most of you know bikes are like a drug and you always want another. Hell, I had dreams about bikes and withdraw symptoms from not riding... Even years later.

After moving to San Diego a little over 6 months ago for a job, getting my life situated, and saving as much as I could (man its expensive down here) I finally decided to pull the trigger on my new Ninja 250!

Not riding for 5 years, I pretty much forgot how to ride, but I was amazed how I remembered so much after getting back on one.

If you're local to San Diego, feel free to hit me up for bike nights or rides. Me and some friends might end up going to the Las Vegas Bike Fest that's coming up in a couple weeks too.

Howdy and :welcome:

Lots of SoCal riders on here. I get down there somewhat regularly, but have yet to figure out how to make it so my company pays for me to ride down.

That's one of my dream bikes, sadly I'll probably only own it if I win the lottery.

Yeah she was definitely an awesome bike!

My only issues is I always wanted to get better at canyon riding and I felt she was just a little too much of a bike for me to learn and progress on, even more so as my first bike. Going 120+ in a straight line doesn't do much for me in excitement (or my driver record) after a few times.

I think with the 250, it will be much easier to improve my lines.

Thanks for the welcome but not sure where you got that out of my post. Because I moved to one of the most desirable and expensive places to live in the country? :idunno:

She ended getting me my other baby that I still drive today -

Hey man. I actually live in East Village, about 5 blocks away from Petco Park (Padres baseball stadium) in one of the high rise apartments where the 163 hwy starts/ends. She sounds like she lives super close to me!

Thanks man! Yeah that itch never goes away sadly. Even worst when you have buddies that ride to remind you by constantly asking "when are you going to get another bike?" every time you see them..

:werd: I was in the same boat as you. I lived in Cleveland. Ninja in the warm months, bus in the cold. Moved to Jersey. They're so sprawled out over there and there was no public transportation where I lived. Sold the bike for a down-payment on a cage.

Welcome! I grew up in San Diego! What a great venue you have for riding.

When it comes to bike size, remember what Mark Twain said, "it's not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog".
