Hello all!

I just purchased the Shogun kit, and I was wondering if it comes with detailed instructions for the '08 250 install?

Has anyone documented their installation process? I'm worried about the "notching" step in particular since I am not very handy.

No need for a DIY here......shogun did an excellent job with the install instructions. Here is a copy so you know what you have ahead of you. Feel free to ask here if you have any more questions.

In the posted pdf it mentions acquiring the torque values for the kawasaki parts removed during the install. Does anyone here have those?

which parts do you need the specs for? i may have missed it, but reading it over quickly, it seems to have them listed in the instructions for the kit.

Step 3 of the install guide states: Remove shift linkage from shift shaft and take counter shaft cover off. Step 11 is the reverse, mount linkage to shift shaft.

It looks like that component is the "Shift Lever Link Bolt" at 104 in-lb which is about 9 ft-lb? Is that correct?

I received the Shogun kit today. It did not come with any instructions for the swing arm spools, the bar end sliders, or the frame sliders. I guess the bar end sliders and spools are self evident, but I am grateful to Sloppy2nds for the manual! Thx!

You will have one hell of a time removing the bar ends to install the new sliders. There are several ways but here is how I did it without the use of a torch or heat gun to loosen the red loctite:

Used a drill bit that was slightly larger than the diameter of the bar end screw/stud to drill the phillips head off of the stud itself. From there, the stock bar end will slide off and you are left with the stud stuck into the handlebar ends. I then used some vice grips to tightly clamp onto the stud, then broke them lose with that to remove the stock stud completely. The new shogun bar end sliders go on with the new allen bolt.

Swingarm spools are self explanitory. You will have some spacers that go between the slider spool and the swingarm.

sold the Intuitive slider and ordered the ShoGun :D

What do you guys use to cut the sprocket cover with?

hacksaw or a dremel works

taped mine off to prevent collateral damage then hit it with a hacksaw. Hand power baby!

What is the cover made of? Metal? Plastic?

its not plastic, def metal. I had to put some time and elbow grease into mine with my dull hacksaw.

hey guys...just got the Shogun slider in. There is no label whatsoever on the kit itself. Even after reading the installation instruction, I'm still uncertain of which side is the actual left and right frame slider rail . they curve differently. Is the more "straight" one is on the right side?

hold it up to where it will mount at each point. It should be obvious which side is which at that point.

Thanks guys.. Just finished installing it yesterday.
One thing to note though. The rear engine bolt, it appears I can slide it out with my bare hand (after removing the nut)...stock bolt that is.
Is this the case with you guys?

I wouldnt worry about it. As long as the bolt goes all the way thru everything that its supposed to go thru, and the nut is properly torqued, have fun.
