I called the Utah Highway Patrol and they told me that lighting is legal on Motorcycles as long as you don't project white light backwards or have blue lights (Unlike on your cage). So I installed these on Saturday night after my daughter had gone to bed.
I picked up som pre-fabricated 12v hardwire LED Clusters from AutoZone, a flush mounting two position switch from Radio Dump and a some connectors from Ace Hardware. In all it cost about $60.

lol looks good but the blue and red would look like cherries to a driver :rolleyes:
one thing you might want to consider is to wire it differently, though. From your pic it looks like they're wired directly into the battery or a constant power source. It might not be too pretty if you forget to turn them off...

The kit I got (on ebay, 'cause I'm not as innovative as you :D) had a fuse connector with it, so you can attach it to a fuse that only has power when the bike is on. That might help if you did end up changing your set up. :thumbup: Looks good though!

I'm not sure if you still need this, but here it is. It's got links to all the different colors they have too. I got white, 'cause it matches my bike (sorta) and I've been told blue and red are illegal here. Check in your area before buying! :thumbup:
