Hey guys this might already be on here but I didn't find it and I am sorry of it is... But, I noticed withy new ninja 300 my clutch grabs very very far out. It almost grabs when I am entirely off my clutch lever. It just seems odd to me because the owners manual says there should be .08-.12" of free play in your clutch lever. I haven't double checked if mine has that since I read about it at 9:30pm but I was wondering if everyone's clutch grabbed out so far when they bought a new 300. Or if anyone thinks mine is odd/wrong or anything please let me know! Thanks guys!!

Two places to adjust it. Start with the one near the lever itself, but if that doesn't allow you to adjust it enough within spec, then you can adjust it at the lower end of the cable by the engine.

Long lever travel is common amongst the Ninja 300 & 250. When properly adjusted the clutch lever will catch (friction zone) as the lever is almost in the normal position. To make the lever travel shorter or move the friction zone, adjustable levers will do just that, especially if you have small hands.

Thanks guys!! I will look into maybe buying a different lever or just getting used to this one. It isn't bad but I do kind of have small hands. I think it's just a matter of time for me to get used to this one.

I have real big hands and hated the stock levers. Went with adjustable ones (https://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=64704&highlight=review%3A+brake+levers).

Besides the seat, that was one other thing I didn't like, the friction zone. It went way too far out for me, so I fixed that with CRG adjustable levers.

Looks like I'll be looking into them in that case. I don't mind the seat but I've only gone in like thirty minutes trips so far lol. Tomorrow I'll be going about an hour for my first day of the MSF Beginners class

That's all that seat is good for, 30 mins, after that it's literally a pain the ass for me. I know it's subjective though, so it may be a non-issue for some.

I found these for forty bucks. Bought em. Hopefully they are cheap and crappy and only cheap lol. http://www.madhornets.com/shorty-levers-brake-clutch-set-for-kawasaki-ninja-zx-zzr-zr-z-zrx-zg-gtr-gp-ex-er-versys-w800-5-color-options/

I had the same issue, it was a combination of the way the bikes made and my tiny hands. Bought above ASV forged aluminum adjustable levers at $80 each, a bit pricy but they're covered under a 3 year warranty and I wasn't comfortable with cheaper brands, better safe than sorry. But since I've installed them not only is my shifting 100x smoother, I enjoy riding so much more because of it. And my hands don't hurt from stretching anymore haha!
