Hey guys so I have 803 miles in my bike and I haven't had time to get it serviced fit the first time yet, however, I changed the oil at about 200 miles. Do you guys think taking it to 900-1000 miles is a bad idea before I get it serviced? Pretty much I want to take it to my girlfriends tonight but that's a 60 mile round trip. And just want to make sure nothing will malfunction since I'm already 200 miles overdue. any input is appreciated!!

60 miles isn't going to make your bike explode. Go see your girl... then get to work!

The first service is really just an oil change and an inspection to make sure everything is in good working order.

I agree with @csmith. Your bike won't explode. It will, however, probably spontaneously catch fire.

14000 miles on my chain with no adjustments and it is still in spec.

Thanks for all the input gentlemen! While we are talkin about this... Anyone know guesses on what the first service will cost roughly?

Depends on what oil you like. If you use shell rotella t6 the cost is about $30 bones (gallon of oil + filter) and some time getting to know your bike.

EDIT: Oh, I am assuming your doing this yourself.

For the first service I was gonna let the shop do it and then after that I was going to do the rest myself.

Oil change on the 300 is very very easy. No need to remove fairings, just the plug and the filter
