Any thoughts or comments on the Dan moto exhaust range for the Ninjette? Is it too cheap to be any good.

My brother has a ZX 250 R Ninja 2008-2012 Carbon GP (https://www.dan-moto.com/DM_INT/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=18_21_119&products_id=368) on his 12 Ninjette. Loud and better than than the stock exhaust, although compared to my two brothers exhaust it sounds a bit hollow[louder but still].
It's cheap, loud, does increase the performance and for the price it's a good deal.

^^This. Get the baffle for it though, sounds better with it IMO. And dont forget a power commander or something similar. I have a Juice Box on my bike.

And changing the back presser does make a power difference, a slip-on does do this. Just not a BIG one like if you put a full system on. :thumbup:

Tpyical 1-2 HP gains for a slip-on on a ZX-6R, amounting to about 1% increase in peak HP. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but this should come to the detriment of low-end and midrange power and torque, truly making it a wash.

I've been pretty happy with my Danmoto JISU, but it's cheap... Had to make a new holder out of some thicker metal as the one provide cracked within 10,000 miles.... The paint also doesn't last that long. Mine discolored within 6,000 miles. I plan on powdercoating it and it should be good....

As far as performance, the muffler in a broad RPM system, like the one on the ninjette only affects the upper end of the RPM range.... By changing out just the slip on your peak power will not change hardly at all, but that power will stay with you longer... IE - Peak power is around 9,500rpm, after that, on the stock muffler, the DYNO shows the power decreases because there is too much back pressure... By opening up with the slip on the power stays near constant from 9,500-13K. You won't really feel it, but if you're that high (and therefor that loud with a slip-on), you'll see benefits, and everybody will glare at you... :P

It's cheap China crap (had one on race bike so I'm allowed to call it crap).

I've got the tri-oval Dan Moto, kinda odd looking at first, better once its installed. It grew on me and I've come to like it but my bike sleeps in my dining room so the sun has not faded the paint, and its only got 3k miles so I can't say the bracket won't break but hey for $155 bucks it was worth it. Stock Pipe was far to quiet, even cut up. And a yoshi is just too much dinero when I've got three junk cages to spend money on.

I've found some Musarri n Yoshimura slip ons on ebay pretty cheap (not as cheap as Danmoto) but quite similar in sound. I KNOW people with both these cans. So I know they fit n work. Do I take the chance on the Dan moto (cause no one else in my area has one) so I have something different.

It does take a giant ballast off your bike

As long as the stock muffler is of a straight through design, there shouldn't be any significant performance difference between stock and any slip on since their is no diameter change
