I love the under the seat straps. It wouldn't be easy to get this off without the key.

And in case you need a bit more space...

Later i'll get some good interior shots to show the cargo room it has. My sholder bag and lunch fit nicely in on the way to work. and it didn't budge with the weight of it. My bag can tend to get heavy.:o

Happy to help.

I was surprised at the price. Coming from Kawasaki i would have thought it would be more expensive.

I kinda want to get the tank bag they make for the 300 too but thats $135 and i have a perfectly good bag already.

Wow they really are proud of their luggage aren't they?

Interesting design for the 250 tank bag....

The tail bag looks good on the 300!

I picked up the same tail bag last year for my 300. I like the bag a lot because it looks good and is very functional. I like how easy it is to put on and take off. They recommend that you shouldn't carry more than 5 lbs in it but I've carried a lot more.

FWIW I've found that it isn't tall enough to carry a six pack of regular bottles, even when expanded. You have to stick to beer that comes in cans or short bottles like red stripe or sierrra nevada. :smile-beerglass:

I have one and love it. Occasionally the zippers get sticky, but that's easily cured by rubbing them with a candle or bar of soap, while in the open/expanded position, to lubricate them.

Thanks for posting about the tail bag. I had to place an order for one too. The design is pretty nice. It will be cool to have some storage without a backpack on. Looks like it will hold a decent amount too.

How much does a dealer typically charge?

MSRP is $89.95. I would guess not far off from that.

Will it fit a 250R?

I bought one of these used a month or two ago, and used it for the first time last weekend when on a short overnight trip.
This bag works surprisingly well. It's big enough to hold a change of clothes, and yet when you ride it with you don't even know it's there.

Thats what i love about it. Well pack you can cram a lot in there and forget its back there.

I want to try the 300 specific tank bag but thats $135....

Any one know if you can fit a lap top in there? I am looking for an alternative to a back pack for my commute.

salcutta88, LittleRedNinjette, the 250 and 300 seats are way different. A model for the 250 is available though.

Lovin mine...replaced my huge recon 19 tank bag w/ this gem...
Added the water proofing to it, and it stayed bone dry inside when caught in 45 min ride in heavy rain! :clapping:

Really? They didn't seem that different. And this bag is somewhat universal. Odd that they offer a different model for the 250. Wish I could find the rear seat I still have flouting around for my 2012 250...

The bags even look the same...

LittleRedNinjette, the 300 seat is pointier in the rear, and the front turns down at least an inch and a half farther in the front. My 250 bag is made differently in the front, as it has a canvas flap that wraps around and under the seat front. The straps pass under the seat to two plastic loops in the rear and then Velcro back to themselves. The bag for the 250 also fits the 1000 cc model.

I get LOTS of daily use from my Kawi bag, but for more capacity I built this for $40. It locks to the bike too. https://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=175601

@salcutta88 LittleRedNinjette The 250/1000 model has a different part number, K57003-104A. The mounting system, shown below, is different than the 300 model. I ordered it last week, received today. Same as the one stolen (cut!) from my bike, except there's a BONUS! The new replacement has larger glove-friendly zipper pulls, and it no longer has the ugly "Kawasaki" logo printed on the side. (Seen in my profile pic.)

LittleRedNinjette I had planned to modify my original a little, and may do the same eventually with the new one. I thought I might add smaller zippered pouches to the sides, top and front, such as small Case Logic zippered camera cases. They're cheap too. Nothing too big, bulky or heavy, just something to add a little more capacity for small, light items. Glasses, gum, phone, ear plugs etc. With so little luggage options available for our bikes, ya gotta get creative!

I hear ya there.

I don't use the tail bag as much any more. not since i went with saddlebags. I got the Blaze saddlebags for christmas and i'll be doing a review on them when i actually get to use them.

I thought about those, but I think the way they mount I may not be able to use a tail bag along with them. I have an idea for a system that would allow small hard Pelican cases to be mounted. All weight would be supported by the top of the frame through the seat hole opening, nothing touching the body work or my Alu-Rack. It would require a simple duplicate seat tab that bolts above the original. The seat lock would be spaced up too. The seat would still remain supported to hold a passenger, spaced up only about 3/8 of an inch. A foam spacer would act as a dust seal between the seat and body work. The bags would lock to the bracket with a pin lock. Twist the key and lift 'em off, leaving an almost unnoticeable mount. No turn signal relocation needed. I have it designed, just need to find someone (reasonably priced) with a laser cutter.

BTW: Patent pending! LOL! Once made, I'll gladly give plans away.

Soft luggage is cool in a perfect world, but I live in a city that has one of the highest crime rates in the country, Stockton California. You may have heard of it. I need lockable stuff.

LittleRedNinjette

You can lock the bags. They can still be cut or something but its nice to have the option.
