I just installed the ZG DB in dark smoke. It fits very well, from what I have read the Puigs have a bit of a gap around the edge. I did not ride on the highway so I am not sure how much less wind buffeting there is but I did notice things seemed quieter than with the stock screen.

I had the same deliberation going on in my head as you. I was about to buy the Puig (I like the shape more than that of the ZG) when I saw that Shogun also came out with a windscreen for the 250. I haven't seen any pictures of it, but it's about $65 on fatbikez.com. I'm still waiting on pics before I decide now...

Not so much a gap as that the area where the windscreen bevel hits the fairing is not as tight as stock. This is just something I have read several times. I've never actually seen the Puig and my ZG fits as well as the stock screen.

As it has been pointed out before, ZG's are made in the US. Maybe this is a selling point if you decide that both of the windscreens themselves are equal.

I got the ZG drk smoke db. I ordered it right from the company, it arrived in 2 weeks and was cheaper. The install was done while I was warming my bike up for a ride. It looks great, the product is sturdy and redirects air flow which is what I wanted. My husband owns a Puig and their product is very simular, so availability and brand naming ... your preference.

Get a Puig if you don't mind waiting 2 1/2 MONTHS!! I waited 2 1/2 months, ordered it at the same time I bought my bike and it finally came in today after I gave up and canceled the order on Thursday and got the ZG sport touring in blue instead. It should be here by the end of next week. :D

nice one. it seems to be the ZG bubble has more a raised bubble which I'm sure helps push wind up even higher over your head than the Puig and even the hotbodies one.

I recently just got a hotbodies double bubble screen b/c I like the looks better, though it probably won't function as well as the ZG one I have right now

I actually like it and don't really have any complaints except for that there seems to be a little drop from the front fairing to the actual windscreen.. it shows better on the previous post's picture.

I don't think it works as good as the ZG DB though

does any of the puig or ZG double bubble windscreens, Come with a "Ninja" or "Kawasaki" or "ZXR" - Logo on the windscreen itself? 1 website i looked at to buy a puig DB from, mentions the clear or light smoke Come with a Matched Logo of the model of bike your getting it for. the dark smoke doesnt!

Here is a comparison of them taken from roughly the same angles to show the difference between the 2 better. the first 2 are ZG last 3 are the new puig i installed (and like more than the ZG just because its a lower bubble and doesnt come up as high at the top)

GREAT PICS, Wade. That's a big decider for me. Thanks so much, mate. I'm 6'2", so I'm going with the ZG for the extra protection. If I was 5'8" or less, I'd go with the Puig for looks.

No Probs. I originally had the ZG but after installing it i didnt like the look from how high it was. And i just happened to order a package from fatbikez and it came with the puig so i wacked that on to see which one i liked better and sure enough i liked the puig better looks wise (ito doesnt really bother me having less protection because i didnt notice a difference in the first place)

I bought a Zero-Gravity Double Bubble in Light Smoke.
Got it off Ebay from TheZGOutlet.com

I bought a Factory 2nd (New) for $44.95! + S&H $11.95 ($56 TMD)

It didnt come with zero-gravity decal/stickers, so i emailed ZGOutlet.com if they could mail me some. They Did! they told me they only ship decals with factory 2nds If customer asks too, along with the order! (FYI)

My windscreen had afew slight ugly bubbles in the plastic itself, around the 2 Upper Holes where you re-use the old rubber WELLNUTs (5mm). Also there was afew very very Slight Scuff marks, but EASILY buffed out with some "PLEXUS" and a cloth rag!!!

So IMO, i would recommend you get a factory 2nd, and SAVE like 50% of your Money toward other stuff!

Once my windscreen was on you cant tell!

Im thinking of picking up a Light Smoke Zero-Gravity 'sport touring' (big huge high one) in Factory 2nd, for later on this Fall/ Early Winter... just to have one to compare the DB vs ST wind/noise reduction, airflow (less air= Warmer riding in the cold). Also a quick switch out for the Colder season in Michigan would be nice to do for Oct-Nov & again in Mid-April/Early-May each year making Warmer Riding during these Cold/Cool months!

IMO the sport touring one looks kinda weird and oversized... but i care More about Function then Looks!

PUIGs are cool looking as well, reports from websites, mags, claiming PUIGs are alil Thicker and better made in the sense of CRACKING from a BIRD or sumin flying right into the windscreen itself! But what are the Odds of that happening?

Note: Im 5' 9" 168 LBS.

My ZG-DB raised the airflow to hit me in the CHIN/UPPER LIP (helmet say) , from being hit in the Nipple/Cowlerbone area! - W/ Stock OEM windscreen on! (depending if i was TRUELY Upright position, or very slightly leaning forward atad, you have like 2" of play.)

If you 2UP, your Ninjas aerodynamics change alot. Changing the way the airflow hits you... affectwise! I noticed a Head Bobbling motion with my GF on back, while riding on I-94 @ 65-70MPH. The air was like pushing my Head left to right... it was weird! I had to bend forward slightly more then normal SOLO Riding to correct this! ummm NO air wasnt getting 'under' my Helmet and 'Lifting' my helmet up or such... it just did that weird Lt - Rt motion on my Head! :wtf:

Once i got into FULL TUCK, with my Chest on or 'nearly' touching the Gas Tank... Noise was reduced ALOT!!! My Helmet was outta the Wind, making left/right head turns, checking other lane/blind spots much Easier. Without gettin that BURST of wind as you turn your head sideways, that you might get normally with the OEM windscreen, OR if your totally Upright (with ZG-DB on).

This helps with LESS BUGS splatting on your Shoulders/Helmet during Dusk/Dawn riding to work and so forth! :woot:

So heres the current PICs of it On my Nate atm! I can take better/closer ones later on this week when i work on my Bike on varies maintance!

Im pretty sure it just means it didnt sell or didnt meet 100% factory standards (might have slight mark on screen or the sticker isn't aligned) so instead of trowing them out they sell them to ZG Outlet at a discounted price.

Nice writeup, Dave.

I found the effect of my ZG DB much as you describe. Doing the full MotoGP wannabe tuck puts me in a very peaceful spot, and puts my eyes just above the lip of the screen.

When riding upright, I actually notice the wind a bit more than with the stock screen simply because it hits me higher up. But overall the drag must be lower because less of my torso is in the breeze.

With so little power on tap, wind resistance is a bigger deal for us than for larger bikes, especially at high speeds. Whenever I accelerate to pass on the highway I tuck to get rid of the air-brake effect.

What the heck are those little black pointy things on your fairing? Can't say I'm a fan of the look... just wondering.
