The 2015 Kawasaki Versys 1000 is definitely better looking than its predecessor, and more all-around capable as well

Kawasaki (http://www.fasterandfaster.net/search/label/Kawasaki) recently unveiled the new, 2015-spec Versys 1000 at the Intermot show in Cologne, Germany. It’s a significant update, with the bike getting revised styling, updated suspension components with revised settings, extra reinforcements added to the twin-tube aluminium chassis (mainly to support the new extra baggage option…), a new main stand, a windshield that can be adjusted without the use of any tools, and a ‘one key’ system for the ignition and all luggage etc.

The 2015 Versys 1000 also gets bigger brake discs at the front with 4-piston calipers and ABS, three-mode KTRC traction control, slipper clutch, LED fog lamps, hand guards, gear position indicator and optional accessories include a smoked windshield, comfort gel seat, 12V DC outlet, grip warmers, frame sliders, tank/knee pads, and many more bits and pieces.

The new Versys 1000 also gets a 43mm USD fork, and horizontally mounted monoshock at the back with remote preload adjuster. The bike’s 17-inch wheels are all-new, as are its petal-type brake discs and revised pannier mounting system. The Versys’ Z1000-based 1043cc DOHC inline-four gets Denso’s stick-type ignition coils with reversed coils, which help minimise electrical interference, revised ignition timing that matches the changes made to the injectors, air cleaner and exhaust, and a secondary balancer, which eliminates excess vibration. Cooling performance is also improved, allowing the water-cooled oil-cooler to be eliminated to save weight, and the bike gets adjustable brake and clutch levers, with lighter clutch springs to reduce lever effort. New colours include orange, white and black.
