View Full Version : Less aggressive rearsets
cadd October 27th, 2014, 02:39 PM I am probably in the 1% that want a less aggressive rider triangle. Is there an aftermarket rearset that is less aggressive? I don't mind them being 1/2" closer to the ground and/or 1/2" more forward.
Yeah yeah, I already hear "buy a cruiser" comments coming, but I really like the 300's mpg and low cost for insurance (and low price). Although, a HD Sportster 883 or the Star Bolt is beginning to look real good!
I enjoy long rides. After 2 or 3hrs on the saddle, I just want to stretch my legs a little. I know I'll be giving up on cornering clearance, but I don't ride aggressive enough to have the peg feelers touching down.
So, I am willing to sacrifice some ground clearance for more comfort. This way, I'll get to enjoy the last 30 min of my ride just as much as the first 30 mins.
NevadaWolf October 27th, 2014, 02:44 PM I just checked and these fit for the 300 as well.
I've been looking into lowering my pegs as well and love the concept of the adjustable mounts. Plus, with the full range, you can adjust them based on how you intend to ride that day.

Downside, you need to buy their pegs as well.
LittleRedNinjette October 27th, 2014, 04:18 PM ^^ but the pegs are cool as hell. Lol
Some people put put Buell pegs on. The need a bit of shaving but may be an option.

Ninja 650? :)
LittleRedNinjette October 28th, 2014, 10:39 AM 650s MPG is less than the 300 i believe. And insurance would be a bit more.
OP, i test rode a Bolt. i wasn't overly impressed. Nice bike but i prefer the 300. :)
JohnnyBravo October 28th, 2014, 12:16 PM I think I read about those in the bible... Something something blasphemy something!

This would probably be the least expensive 1st step. Not sure the exact model they are from, but they have an offset/drop of around an inch I believe.
There may be adapter plates that would move the entire rearset also, but they are usually made to move them up and not down, so it may take some modifications to work.

Yup, its about an inch or a bit more. The pegs off the Lightning i know work. I'm not sure if the Firebolt pegs are the same.
Ghostt October 28th, 2014, 02:03 PM I don't know if this will work on your model, but I'm sure if there's a will there's a way.

Good luck
I myself is going to try some ideas to lower the pegs on the pre gens, I of course will post my results when I'm done.
