There shouldn't be any noticeable impact, but if anyone does see anything weird, please let me know.

Only weird thing I've noticed is I'm getting a red padlock with an X on some pages.

do you get many takeover attempts? someone took over one of my brothers server and turned it into some kind of syrian propaganda thing. and yesterday someone from china (according to the ips anyway...) took over our mail server at work and started spamming viagra ads out of it before we could get it shut down. now we're blacklisted everywhere. ****in a! all this hacking is bullshit!

This isn't new with 6.6. SSL errors will show on pages where there are pictures coming from other servers that are not protected by SSL. On most browsers I thought it turned yellow, so I'm not familiar with it turning red, but if you click on it there might be an error listed that you can confirm. To fix it, I could prevent hotlinking to other sites and make people use either attachments or the picture albums here, but it is convenient to be able to easily link pictures and have them show up right away. On one of my other sites (www.crf250l.org), I'm running a new forum software that has a pretty neat feature to fix that problem; it locally caches all pictures, even linked ones, and then shows the pics from the local cache rather than remotely. This way the SSL icon never shows an error.

Yes, there are continuous attempts to try and guess the admin passwords; the trick is to make sure that the attempts are locked out soon enough to prevent access, without letting those lockouts affect legitimate users. Every time I've found a new type of log to review, I've found interesting things that I wish I'd seen earlier. :) But - nobody's cash or personal information is at risk here, and we have daily backups that we can always roll back to in the worst case that everything was compromised at some point.
