HONDA Motor Europe have now confirmed that John McGuinness and Conor Cummins will become Honda Racing's road racing team.

McGuinness and Cummins will compete in the Superbike and Senior classes at the Isle of Man TT and the North West 100 onboard the Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade SP.

In addition, both riders will also compete in the Supersport class (on Honda CBR600RR's) at the NW200 and the TT with the privately owned Jackson Racing.

Twenty-one time Isle of Man winner McGuinness struggled with his 2014 season after he broke his scaphoid during a training accident on his off-road bike. The Morecambe rider continued at the TT and placed in the top-ten in both the Superbike and Senior TT races, not forgetting his win in the TT Zero class.

McGuinness is now back to full fitness and ready to once again prove he's the man to beat on the Mountain course.

"There’s no denying that 2014 was a tough year for me," said McGuinness."It shook my confidence and held me back but I’m ready to put it all behind me and get back to the business of winning races.

"I’ve said it before but the Honda team is like family to me and that support means everything. I can’t wait to get back on the bike and prove that there’s life in the old dog yet."

Manxman Conor Cummins made his debut with Honda Racing in 2014 and secured podium finished at the NW200 and the Isle of Man TT, including second place in the Senior TT.

The 27-year-old explained: "2014 was a great year for me. I achieved a career-long dream in riding for the official Honda team and I just wanted to make the very most of the opportunity I’d been given.

"I’m thrilled to be staying with the team for 2015 and now that I have a season of experience on the Fireblade SP under my belt, I’m really looking forward to seeing what we can achieve. Hopefully we can bring home some good results."

Cummins will also compete in the Superstock class, but as McGuinness has parted with long-term sponsor Padgetts, he will be runnning his own Superstock machine and therefore creating a new team himself.

The Honda Racing Team, McGuinnes and Cummins, will also be competing in the 2015 Endurance World Championship Superstock class aboard the Fireblade SP.
