Anybody know of any major gear stores located in the south? I'm sick of buying things online and then being completely unhappy with them when I actually get my hands on them.

I live near Mobile, but I'd be more than willing to drive (or ride...) a couple of hours to actually look at quality gear.

Just the name of a chain (or if you happen to live in the same area and know of a store) would be great, I can probably locate actual stores on their website.

Thanks!

Great, thanks! The only dealers in town that I know of either don't have much, or all they have is harley gear. There's one dealer/store that literally has two pairs of boots... two!

These would all be 6-8 hour drives for me, so maybe I'll have to take off a weekend or something if I can't find anything closer.

Thanks for the link

cycle gear seems to be moving more towards the MX gear latley in their stores, but they do still have road gear. you can also order anything through them... even when they're having one of their big store wide sales. so thats kinda cool.

I looked in other states (AL and GA) for something closer, no luck. every cycle gear store is a good 6-8 hour drive away.

thanks for the advice guys but if cycle gear is the only southern retailer then I think i'm out of luck.

P have you tried new enough yet?

I hadn't looked at them very closely. I'm looking for an actual store (brick and mortar), not an online store.

I'd really like to be able to try the stuff on before I buy it. I ordered a pair of boots that looked great online, but don't offer very good protection and make it pretty awkward for me to ride. I suppose I could ebay them :)

new enough has an amazing return policy... it's a little slower than in-store, but other than that, it's just as good if not better! And their customer service when you buy items from them in helping you choose sizing and what not is great too!

Motosport.com is in MS. Great customer service. Super fast shipping and return is hassle free with no restocking fee. NewEnough is also good. Great Customer Service.
I would stay away from motorcyclecloseout.com. They have some really cheap deal but their return policy is one of the worst. Their processing and shipping take forever.
