The V6R is on the left and VR which is on the right up above now comes in black with a polished tip. I'm waiting on bram for new pics. There are gains with both exhausts but I wat to dyno them myself on the same bike is the same conditions to get some better numbers. I trust bram's numbers but the dynos weren't done at the same time as the dates on them indicate.

I like the VR better because of the can. Would it do fine on street riding?

Oh it will not take two months but it will be close. If I place an order depending on how many huggers I order because it takes 3 weeks to make them then it would ship out after that I will place my order in the first week of July for the huggers. But it takes about a month via ocean freight for any orders.


I really didn't want this GB to start until August because I wanted to be able to sell off some of the stuff coming in my first shipment so I had an idea of how much capital I would have for my next order. If the GB ends on the 20th I'll need two weeks for the build time, a month for them to get here, then how ever long shipping takes from Chico,CA to your door.

Hey Matt, I was wondering if you could get info on the decibels the vr6 produces during idle, 5k, and 12k rpm, or something of this sort.

It will be close to the AP db numbers. Maybe 1 or 2 db louder. But not TB obnoxious

Same price as the rest. The Quiet cores cost me about $10 more than the rest. Just for reference you do not get to choose your end cap color on the V6R the come black and only black. If you want to strip it and get it anodized yourself though go for it. :)

Actually it is a new design. Longer pipe the old style wasn't track friendly. You can probably cut an inch or two off the end of the header if you wanted to.

That black VR is NICE. I have to wonder though, how loud is it? I feel like I should be hearing them from Indonesia by now....

The VR Black is a totally new design. Not for regular sale until Monday. I have one coming over here for me in this shipment. Mike Sema's dyno run gives you an idea of the loudness.

Alright, well I'm asking because really hard to tell how loud something is over an internet video and the track that I plan to attend on trackdays has a 103db limit, which means that even a standard 12" Area P would be illegal.

This is louder than the area p. Not much but it is about 2 DB more. It's in between an AP and a TB. I know ap is legal at Infineion out here and they have a 101 DB limit. I have a VR Black on order. When I get it I will take a DB meter to it. I may hook up the quiet and normal V6R people ordered to get a DB reading on them if they'll let me.

You can hook mine up i am curious to know the db difference myself.

I have atleast one quiet in this shipment. I will see if the guy who bought it will let me test it. He shouldn't have a problem since I cut him a good deal.

I may consider it if it's not that much louder and you say it's legal at a track with a lower db limit. What I'm concerned about is that they claim on the track's site that they can/will measure the loudness at any given point while the bike is on the track. When one of these pipes is screaming at 12k rpms I'm certain they'll exceed 103db, hell, i bet even the stocker comes closer to that than one might think.

stock is 80db to comply with DOT. all I can do is extend the GB another week an test them all when I get them. then I will take db readings at 20', 30', and 50'. i'll do it at 10000rpm or something. :)

As for the exhaust, I was originally going to grab an Area P, because it was still cheap compared to most other systems, but $285?! Unlike those rearsets, I don't think this one's going to be able to wait... And if they're going to be testing decibels, they won't be able to be right next to the bike, so I'm sure I've got plenty of leeway there. The guys with liter bikes and what not have to be screaming just as loud IMO.

Laguna seca has a stock exhaust only policy. And even their db rating is ridiculously low so low stock exhausts often are illegal. It's funny to because the F1 cars are super loud. Loud enough you can hear them 15 miles away in Salinas. Rich people tend to kill us poor folks fun in CA. I had someone build a house at the end of my runway and then try to sue me so I couldn't fly my plane in and out of my property. They gave up when they realized they had no case.

Anyhow I will get db reading for you guys after the first shipment gets hear for those of you who want them.

Tony the GB ends the first week of August. I would like the dposits if you are totally certain your getting one anytime in the last 2 weeks of the GB. the V6R is the shorter one. Tin there is a dyno run of the VR on the front page you can go to the Sportisi main site for other clips although the quality is not that good. Youtube has a few also.

xTKx I don't know about powder coating the whole V6R. Especially when it comes with a black anodized tip. Powder coating is easy enough but it still costs me money to do it. The only reason why I am contemplating doing the VR's is because I had labeled them as black and shown pictures to everyone only to find out the paint was not up to my or Bram's standards. At $260 you can still ship the can to Tim and have him powder coat it for $36. Your still looking at a sweet deal. I'm still trying to figure this out.

I would say buy factory pro since there is more in their kit. If you use a dyno jet kit a 100 main jet from their kit would be best size.

Bone stock is never recommended. Shimming the needles may get you by but installing a jet kit is highly recommended.

Your's should be here in less than a month Andrew. I paid to have this one shipped to me and it wasn't Cheap. Me, Mike Sema, and Kazam are the only people who will have this style. The New VR black can is Aluminum for a smoother finish. Ours are hand pounded and formed. The new headers also are not smooth mandrel bends but a series of welds (does not effect power dyno sheets back it up and it was vigorously tested). I actually prefer this look while some probably do not even though you'll never see it. Then everything is smoothed out and polished. Man my video sucks to because this thing is loud. Almost two bros loud but not quite.

Very nice. I can't wait, especially after that vid. Not to mention that it sounds fricken awesome. From what I've been able to distinguish from all the vids of different exhausts, this one sounds the best, loud or not. :)

If your willing to pay full retail I can get it for you. It will take 12 days from order to delivery. It will suck on my end because I won't make anything since I will be eating the shipping. But it will still be about $70 cheaper than if you buy direct from bram. If 3 or more buy at once I will order not and no waiting at all is required. I will Drop the price to $315 if you guys would like to do it that way. I do recommended waiting about a week though because the newer and updated models will be available then.

Andy Mine was powdercoated with standard flat black. The can doesn't get hot enough to effect it but it was hot eough that the paint couldn't handle it.

having them powder coat it is free the difference is the type of powder they use may not be is the class of stuff you can get from tim. My vr is powder coated by bram and its not bad. I think is cost me a total of $2 to have it done versus Tim's $25 or so. Ceramic isn't need on the muffler though because the glass packing is the best you can get and the muffler doesn't get hot enough to effect normal powdercoating.

Yes shipping address will be taken from paypal. $240 is your cost through paypal. I have a UPS Business account so probably through them but I will check through fed ex and USPS prior to shipping just to make sure.

Yes that is what you would be getting and welcome to the forum. I will be posting up vids of the VR6 in a few. The VR6 is a much nicer finish than the old style VR its amazing.

no they are both "race" exhausts the vr6 is the more street type one. The word race is in the title on both the VR6 is a little heavier thatn the VR too.

correct me if I am wrong but the 2 exhausts look like the same design?? are there pics of them side by side?? The reason I ask is if i can get the can look of the V6R on the VR in all black w/o having to powdercoat....then I might as well do that (since the specs are relitively the same). thoughts??

^ not sure what you are getting at. The VR Black is the more cylindrical of the two the VR6 is the beefier of the two with the black tip.
