Just hit 20,000 miles on my 2012 last night. Hoping my bike will last another 20,000 without needing an overhaul, especially since I put those 20,000 on in 2 1/2 years. This little girl needs to last me a while for commuting. Skills have increased 10 fold since I first got her brand new and still love every moment I get to ride. Anyone out there have any experience on how long these little engines will last? or even the clutches? I change the oil every 2,000 miles, might be excessive, but I put those 2,000 on quickly and at highway speeds. Just starting to worry that I am going to have to start dumping a lot of money into it soon when I am still paying her off.

If you follow the suggested maintenance schedule you still have many more miles left.

Properly maintained, I wouldn't doubt a Ninjette to run for 100k.

Keep the miles going!

I don't have a bajillion, only 66,000. Really hoping for 100k next year.

Let's see, I use synthetic oil and change it every 5000. Take it into the shop every 10k and so far only standard stuff has been done. They tried getting me to replace all the hoses at 50k, but I argued that 2 years is not enough time for those to go bad. It does need the 60k valve inspection that I've been too lazy to do myself and to cheap to take it in.

The battery went dead on me over the winter so I replaced that with another OEM one.

I know someone on here has 75k+ and 100k+ (140k+ ?) on pregens, I think. There are 250 riders in the IBA world that I'm positive have über miles.

the clutch will make it to 100k easy if you're nice to it... if you're mean to it, they wont make it to 30. i've seen pregens with well over 200k on original internals. just fix things when they break and do your services.

hey teri if you want to bring your bike to me i'll do your valves for free. i'm out of work right now and have lots of time... kinda far though sorry

*thinks* Tempting but I'll be taking the bike into the shop next month anyway to prep for my long rides.

I do want to come back down that way. Lots of fun roads shown on the Butler maps.

It's good to hear all of this, i try to take it easy on the clutch, but most of my daily commutes force me to have to stomp it due to crazy Houston drivers. I try to maintain as best as possible, even keeping it washed when not in the rainy months (which is right now ). Hope to see my bike hit 100k one day!
