The American Motorcyclist Association was saddened to learn of the passing of AMA Motorcycle Hall of Famer Sharon Clayton (http://www.motorcyclemuseum.org/halloffame/detail.aspx?RacerID=144). The 80-year-old Clayton died Monday, March 30, where she lived in Las Vegas, Nev.
Clayton and her husband, Chuck, founded the influential weekly newspaper Cycle News and she was its publisher for nearly 30 years. In 1989, the Clayton's created the Clayton Memorial Foundation, a non-profit charity established to raise funds to assist injured racers.
The AMA offers its most sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the Clayton family and friends during this difficult time.
