View Full Version : Area-P Exhaust.... COLOR MATCHED!
TheDuck June 19th, 2009, 11:35 PM The carbon fiber appearance of the Area-P exhaust never did anything for me on my bike as there isn't any other carbon fiber on it. I got the bright idea to use some more of the paint that I painted my flush turn signals with to paint the carbon can, and presto!
Here is how it looks in a few different angles under different lighting conditions:

I'm quite proud of it, and no it won't melt or burn off, the carbon fiber can barely gets anything above warm even after 200miles of riding the twisties on a 100° day!
TheGoodLyfe June 19th, 2009, 11:47 PM Dang Duckman that's pimp!!! I dub thee the original haha. Sweet lookin bike bro

will the paint stay on though from the heat?

why not suggest Area P to make color CF to match the bike?

Verus Cidere June 20th, 2009, 02:09 PM Too bad you spent the extra money for the carbon can if you were just going to paint it! Looks good though!

At the time of my ordering they were all the same price no matter which style you chose. I wouldnt suggest painting anything other than the carbon can though, or expect melted/burning paint. :)
Jiu Jitsu Player June 22nd, 2009, 04:43 PM That turned out pretty good. Nice job.

I didn't know it was like that! Interesting... You could've just used high-temp paint...
TnNinjaGirl June 23rd, 2009, 05:36 AM I read the title and was thinking it wasn't going to end up good. Luckily I was wrong. That is a clean install and looks attractive. Nice job!
TheDuck January 18th, 2010, 05:32 PM 7 months later and the paint is still on it. There are a few spots where the paint has gotten a little ... eh... not quite wrinkly, but there are a few ripples.
Close to the bolts that go through the carbon fiber where the carbon would get heated better from better contact with metal. You have to look closely to notice, and photography doesn't even pic it up so I have no photos to show.
But still, I'm happy with it, and nobody else has noticed!
Delta107 January 18th, 2010, 06:10 PM Wow that looks nice! Great Job!
