To celebrate the 100,000th Can-Am Spyder to roll off the assembly line, BRP, Can-Am’s parent company, surprised*the lucky owner, Brahm Wilson, with a special presentation yesterday at the SpyderFest banquet to commemorate the event. Spyderfest is the largest Spyder gathering in the world, with over 1,200 Spyder enthusiasts attending, and is taking place right now in Springfield, Missouri. Wilson had no idea he had purchased the 100,000th Spyder.
“I’m an ex-motorcyclist, returning to the sport after a few years and I have been admiring the Can-Am Spyder for a while now,” said Brahm. “With the introduction of the Spyder F3 this past year, I decided that was the one for me, and it ended up being the 100,000th Spyder to come off the assembly line. I couldn’t ask for anything more than to share this amazing experience with all of these other Can-Am Spyder owners at SpyderFest!”
“It has been a great ride with the Can-Am Spyder since we first unveiled it in 2007, to today, delivering the 100,000th*unit,” said José Boisjoli, BRP’s president and chief executive officer. “The Spyder F3 model marks our entry in the cruiser segment, which represents about two-thirds of the North American motorcycle industry. Consumer response to this new model leads us to believe that we can expect more milestones in the near future.”
Comedian Jay Leno holds the honor of having received production model no. 1 of the Can-Am Spyder in 2008. Since then, BRP introduced the Can-Am Spyder RT in 2010, the Can-Am Spyder ST in 2013, and, most recently, the Can-Am Spyder F3 in 2015.
