We went out to a large parking lot to get a feel for the new bike. She practiced leaving a stop for a bit, then shifting gears, thottle and brake control.
This is her first time out learning to ride and the bike now has a whopping 19 miles on it  We'll need to get her a proper Kawi jacket soon!

Congrats  on the first ride
My advice is for her to take an MSF course asap, best thing a new rider can do IMO :)

Nice bike too ;)

The next class with an opening isn't untill Aug 7th  There's no msf classes in our area, this would be a 3-day class at a tech college (found out about it at the msf site).

No local dealers offering MSF? We have a HD dealer here in Gastonia that offers one, too bad your so much further south ...

Good Luck to her and the new ride :)

By the time that MSF course comes around in August she'll already have 300 miles on the bike and you'll be like "Where did you take that thing!!" and she'll respond...just around the parking lot 700 times!!

Im sure she'll enjoy it...have fun!

Looking good! Be sure to get her some pants as well, just in case she has a drop - even parking lot speeds can be brutal. And if she tucks her hair into the back of her jacket, there's less nasty tangling that happens :)

Congatulations on the new bike and teach her well so you can keep her in one peice. That goes for your girl and the bike.

Congrats - mileage doesn't matter on the MSF she should take it as soon as she can. She will have an advantage in that she wont have to focus on the basics and can pay attention to some of the other things the instructors try to teach but we miss first time around.
