View Full Version : Here's a nice commute Jerry June 29th, 2009, 02:22 PM QPpwXU4egyw Alex June 29th, 2009, 02:32 PM Fun road! I was out there myself last August (http://www.montgomerybikers.com/forums/showthread.php?p=63903&postcount=10), and really enjoyed that area. Not a fan of the 25 mph speed limit all the way through the park, though! Seems like you're not a fan of it either, though. :) Cali619 June 29th, 2009, 02:42 PM thats the gen grant or sherman highway? I remember coming back down from seqouia nat park thinking about riding my bike there. Very lucky you got to do it :) kkim June 29th, 2009, 10:22 PM nice commute. many LEOs in there? it would suck if you needed to do 25 throughout. what is it you do at the end of the road? Apex June 30th, 2009, 08:29 AM That dang cager needs to get out of the way!!!! :D Nice road. I think I may need to take a trip up to Austin just to hit some decent stuff. :) Jerry June 30th, 2009, 10:12 AM many LEOs in there? it would suck if you needed to do 25 throughout. Yeah it's called the "General's Highway" Not too many LEO's, but they are 'Federal Officers' (All National Park Service LEO's are) They generally allow 10-over, and actually that's about as fast as you can go. I mean, I guess if you wanted to push it faster you could, but you have deer, bears, foxes, bobcats, that nasty oil stripe on the uphill side, tourists stopped on blind corners, rocks, sticks, etc. on the road. I just take it easy (mostly) and enjoy it. The idea is to get to work, and home safely.:) It's a perfect N250 ride. Snake June 30th, 2009, 02:04 PM That is some great scenery. Makes me miss California. |
