View Full Version : considering this rear seat storage solution. FastPack by the Cycle Guys
shift_6 July 10th, 2009, 11:24 AM this looks like a good alternative to wearing a backpack to carry around all the trivial little things such as: house keys, cellphone, water bottle, etc etc

tjkamper July 10th, 2009, 12:13 PM That is awsome looking. Is it padded so it can be used as a seat if it is not full of crap.
shift_6 July 10th, 2009, 12:43 PM yup, it doubles as a seat
jfauerba July 10th, 2009, 12:45 PM I've had this for about 4 months now. Works great when you need extra space and does not look like it is there when folded up. I use it mainly for carrying tennis shoes (size 9) back and forth. It is a little bit of a hassle to unzip two zippers to use it and then two zippers to fold it back. For my lunch and tennis shirts and tennis rack, I mounted a tennis rack cover to the side of my bike (lost one foot peg to do it). The tennis racket cover is just one simple zipper so I use it more. Picture of mine is here (http://onthewebsite.com/mc/windscreen/orig_windscreen_from_back_to_front.JPG). The pics shows it much lighter color than it really is. The black has faded some over the months. You can also see the tennis racket cover if you go up a dir and down to tennis.
Snake July 10th, 2009, 02:01 PM That is a very cool idea. A built in tail bag.
CLSully826 July 10th, 2009, 09:02 PM That's awesome, I've never seen that before. Is there anything similar to this, or are Cycle Guys the only ones that make something like this?
JaeL July 12th, 2009, 03:52 PM Has anyone found any good deals on the hard top bookbags?

newgirlrider July 19th, 2009, 12:51 AM Does this attach to the seat or does it replace the seat.
jfauerba July 19th, 2009, 04:46 AM It has velco straps that go arond/under the seat.

On another subject, I checked out your GPS/radar dir and am very interested in using the ziplock bags for GPS. I currently have a Garmin GPS V (water resistant) mounted, but it is older technology. I have a Garmin C580 in my Jeep, which I would like to use on the bike. It's more user friendly to my older eyes! How exactly did you use the ziplock bags?
Thanks
tc3jg July 19th, 2009, 09:25 AM man that is sweeet
noche_caliente July 19th, 2009, 10:57 AM Sam - not ziplock, but my mother-in-law is taking my garage door opener home with her today to vacuum-seal it in one of the plastic bags, and then I'm going to find somewhere to mount it on the bike, as our wire-it-into-the-high-beam-switch method isn't working - we've burned up 2 remotes that way so far :(
Anteraan July 26th, 2009, 05:03 PM I have added this, and I like it.

I put it in the bag with the cords on the open side and then used clear packing tape to tape it closed.
