Ducati got its first real taste of flat track racing last year when Troy Bayliss and Johnny Lewis joined the AMA Pro Flat Track Championship aboard Scrambler-branded, Lloyd Brothers Motorsports-built trackers. Apparently the boys in Bologna liked the taste, too, with the Italian manufacturer going on to design the Scrambler Flat Track Pro that was just unveiled at the 2015 EICMA show.
Thankfully, the Flat Track Pro is a (much) less-frightening iteration of the bike Bayliss and Lewis raced, which was built around an air-cooled, Hypermotard-based 1100cc L-twin and looked like an absolute handful when thrown sideways. For comparison, the new Scrambler Flat Track Pro uses a standard 803cc Scrambler engine (remember that this engine was originally used in the Monster 796) and is claimed to produce a modest 75 hp 8250 rpm and 50 lb-ft of torque at 5750 rpm.
Based on the Scrambler Full Throttle, the Flat Track Pro features a lowered tapered handlebar, rider-only seat, side-mounted number plate, and nose fairing. Similar to the Full Throttle, the Flat Track Pro will also come with a Termignoni slip-on exhaust and roll on alloy wheels.
In the transformation from Full Throttle to Flat Track Pro, Ducati has dipped into its own accessories catalog, going on to add machined footrests, rear view mirrors, a sprocket cover, and front brake reservoir cap.
The end result is a features list that looks something like this:

• Low tapered handlebars
• Front brake fluid filler cap in billet aluminum
• Dedicated seat

• Alloy wheels with yellow piping on rim
While that makes the Flat Track Pro essentially a Scrambler Full Throttle with a few model-specific updates, there's no doubt that the bike looks like just a little more fun.
