THIS is a rendering of what the TVS ‘U69’, essentially a fully faired version of the BMW G 310 R, could look like.

The image was created for Indian motoring site Rushlane.com. It is believed the new bike could be called the Apache RTR 310 and that it will unveiled at the Indian Auto Expo on February 3.

Although it's not the most polished rendering we’ve ever seen, there are clearly some influences from the S1000RR present, including the tank and tail unit, although the front end reminds us of more of a Honda Firestorm than a modern sportsbike.

TVS hasn't commented on whether Apache RTR 310 exists, but in a market where small capacity sportsbikes like the Yamaha R3, KTM RC390 and Kawasaki Ninja 300 are popular, it's understandable that a manufacturer like TVS would want a slice of those sales.

TVS and BMW have a technology partnership that means the G 310 is being manufactured by TVS in India. Under the partnership, TVS has access to BMW’s R&D. Until last week it was assumed that TVS would use the G 310 R platform to create a naked bikefor the Indian market but if rumours are to be believed, the it’s taken things one step further to create fully-faired small capacity sportsbike.
