Hi, I'm so pissed I scratched my new helmet by placing it on the floor for a couple of seconds, so dumb. The scratches are very minor (superficial), but I still would like to get rid of them, any suggestions?

How deep are they? Just in the clear coat or through the color? If they are minor enough (just in the clear coat) you can wet sand the spot with 600 grit and then buff it out. If very slight scratches, buff at them with some scratch remover, then buff n wax.

how deep are the scratches? if you can feel them with your fingernail, I'd live with them. if you can't feel them, use some light rubbing compound to take them out , then polish and wax the helmet.

+1 for the rubbing compound. I do not recomend using sandpaper.

sandpaper can be used... I use a 1600 or 2000 grit when I need to "cut" orange peel, but for scratches that aren't too deep, I've had better luck with a fine compound.

for this application, I suggest using compound.
