Back 2 weeks ago on Aug.5th 2009!

Sugarbear,djbeers,Me,Rage42 all met up for a Local Ride!

We started the Nite with Me, riding out to B-dubs in the Clem, to met up with carol & dave. We chatted for an Hour, had some food & pop, then headed down Gratiot to Dooley's (formerly Wild Woodys) @ 14mile/Gratiot.

We hung out there for 45 mins, checkin out the Bikes outside. There was like 20 there, but still nice to look around getting ideas and Drool! :D

Matt finaly met up with us here, after 30mins or so... we Fired the bikes up and rode north on Gratiot, to HOOTERS to see if anything was shakin' there!:D

It was dead, only 4-5 HD's parked. So we took off down gratiot, took 11mile to Jefferson. Then contiuned south along jefferson, down into Gross Pointe along the Water! Man it was sooo nice out, very beautiful sceenary and stuff. We made a quick Stop/turn around in a lil Park. Then rode back up North on jefferson (man i wish i had a GOPRO to cap all i saw!) and we slowly peeled off. Dave was first, then carol, matt and i rode up until 12mile. Then once we came to I-94, i peeled off, Waved (hooked horn) and FLEW!!! onto I-94. :D

11-12k Shifts are FUNNN!!!!

I got home just fine and Parked Nate & kissed him G'nite! heh

Note: Soon ill be going along the same path at Night to Cap some nice Pics. Ill either bring a Tripod or Dawn (GF).

Enjoy

HP2 Sport is definitely a neat looking bike. All the details are just right, including the right amount of carbon fiber. But it's insanely expensive ($25K) for a "high performance" bike that would get its clock cleaned by any 600cc supersport on any track.

Yes thats what i thought. Until djbeers (dave) told me that ONLY 200 were made in 2008! Even Less were allowed to be SOLD over in USA soil. So his HP2 is a collectors bike in a way! I think they made 200 of em in 2008, and another 200 or so in 2009. either way... Dave is getting another BMW sportbike. i forget the type, but its a 1000cc with 193 HP (rear wheel) 200HP on motor! It only costs like $15,000 us. :D

as for pics of daves HP2, the few ive posted along with my bike nites and trips and stuff... thats it!

Yup, the S1000RR. Looks like it's going to be quite a nice bike! The 193hp is measured at the brochure, not at the rear wheel. :p Rear wheel hp will be in the high 160's, just like all the other recent-gen literbikes on most dynos.

Don't believe everything Dave tells you. :p The wet weight of the HP2, even by BMW's specs, is 199 kg (439 pounds). Only the dry weight is 178 kg (392 pounds). But still, that's only about 60-65 pounds more than the ninjette. Air-cooled motors do save a chunk of weight by not needing much in terms of a cooling system, even though there is a small oil cooler on that bike.

Here's a link (http://www.webbikeworld.com/BMW-motorcycles/hp-2-sport/) with all the specs on the bike, as released by BMW.

I just hope they do something about it's snout. I don't particularly care for the look of the front of the bike as seen in WSBK.

The WSBK version is spectacularly nice looking compared to the street version, so I don't think you're going to be pleasantly surprised. :) Lemme see if I can find a pic...

Ew, it's got that weird new BMW mismatched headlight thing!

Yeah, you're right. I still think the WSBK paint scheme makes the front look too fat, but comparing the pictures side by side - the race bike does look better.
