So I've moved to Iowa and have been starting to get out and "explore" my surroundings now that I'm somewhat situated (and don't have a job). I rode down to the border and did one of these numbers:

(although the main reason for that trek was for another reason that I won't get into  . Then today I rode up to Riverside, Iowa. Why Riverside?

Why because that's the future home of Captain James T. Kirk! :D

WTF? Someone else lives in Iowa! :evil6: I'm in Mount Pleasant (down by Burlington). I've been here about 3 weeks now.

I'm in Cedar Rapids....let me know if you're up for a ride.

I moved to Iowa about 2.5 years ago from Michigan. I agree the roads are straight, but there are some good ones if you look hard enough.

Ok, cool beans. Cedar Rapids is about an hour (I've been up there twice last week just for shits and giggles). :D I'd like to get some decent tires before I hit up some twisties, but then again I don't expect ANY twisty roads around here compare to the mountain roads in California :p

Hope you guys get together as I believe you are the only two motorcyclists there. :D

Hah. Well I guess I can tell you Kelly (but keep it on the DOWNLOW!) One of the fellows on KF lives in Missouri (which is only about 40 miles from me) so I went down so I could take this picture:

:D So in the grand scheme of things, whenever we have an argument I remind him that I have in fact flipped off his entire state.

I guess you upheld the state motto of "Show Me!"

Haha that picture is classic.

I'm in Iowa, about 30 miles south of Des Moines. Still looking for some quality roads...

Frame that pic!
Hilarious!

How many people can say they have flipped off a whole state????

Well, truth be told Illinois is even closer, but no one has cheesed me off from there yet :evil6:

And I would've totally taken you up to visit you when I was in Hawaii several months back Kelly, but there's like 5 Hawaiian islands!? Very clever tactic to make tourists spend more money hopping between islands :headshake: clever. VERY clever.

Hi TJ. Back in April on a cage road trip I was in Iowa. Burlington is an awesome little town. And I wish I had the bike to ride down Snake Alley. Have you been there yet? Here's a link.
