Is the first pic also after 4400 miles? If all three of those pics were taken at the same time those tires have some terrible flat spots. I am running MT75s and get more miles that that riding them hard in the Mtns.

no the pic with the tire on the bike is the new one i put on this morning, the two pics of the bald one are after 4400 miles of hard mountain riding, the roads here are horrible

these tires grab awesome but i think i may look for a tire that will have grip and last a bit longer

I'm going to stick with my theory that since i'm not 130lb's that small weight loss is'nt helping me much So the super light mt 75 120/80-16 (4lb lighter than stock 130/80-16) will be replaced with a avon 130/90-16

OOPS THIS NEW ONE HAS LASTED..WELL NOT SO WELL
I just turned 11000 miles and it's about gone..maybe 500 miles left , that last one went on at 8900 miles or so..bought with 3700 stock tire was gone in 500 miles or so

The mt75's are great but this bike is my dry weather commuter so I'm dropping for the Avon 130-90's next they are supposed to get it and last at twice the cost

You might want to try Pirelli Sport Demons. I have a little over 9,000 miles on my rear tire and will be changing it out in the Spring time.

my MT75 has a hekuva lot more tread left after 4k than that! I don't thrash it (i.e. i shift smoothly etc) but it sees the twisties in the mnts quite a bit and has several hundred miles of 2-up riding as well. I'm expecting to get about 7k out of it.
I think I'll switch to the demons or GT501 (not sure which yet) though, because I've read they handle a bit better and will effectively raise the gearing.

If you really want life out of tire, try the Kenda K671. Saw them after 8000 miles on another member's Ninja 250, and it had PLENTY of life left. It was probably about halfway through it's life!

I have them on my 250, I can't say that it grips better than the Sport Demons, MT75, etc. But for me, that tire is exactly what I need. No substantial twisties here in the Chicagoland area, but it still grips way past what I can do on the road, and is great in the rain. It's the ultimate commuting/touring tire. So...an option for you if you need more miles out of your tire ;)

Our roads are rough and i trash it daily...this tire aint making it even 4400 miles:(

well i hav'nt ridden but once day every couple weeks since i turned 11000 and now i'm at 11500 the tire is gone and unsafe to ride. Rather than the avon i order a metzler Me 880, any one got one on their pre gen? what cha think about it?
