View Full Version : How exactly does this happen? (motorcycle accident) hybridxx September 13th, 2009, 03:41 PM SKn910cND-w Ive seen this happen in a couple of motorcycle accident videos.. fujimumu September 13th, 2009, 03:55 PM Looks like his rear tire slid out on some gravel or something and when it regained traction he caught a nasty wobble that made him lose it. Edit: Let's wait and see what the experts have to say. noche_caliente September 13th, 2009, 04:02 PM target fixation killerkay3 September 13th, 2009, 04:29 PM idk but it kind of looks like he shifted down a gear right before it happened..? CRXTrek September 13th, 2009, 04:34 PM idk but it kind of looks like he shifted down a gear right before it happened..? And no "slipper clutch" :o Looking at it again, he hit his brake. Then panic and target fix kicked in. Cedilla September 13th, 2009, 06:20 PM Looks like he freaked and froze up when his back wheel lost traction. revstriker September 13th, 2009, 10:01 PM It looks like he shifts up right before the back tire slid. He may have given it too much throttle and spun the back tire a bit. It also looks like he freaked out and got fixated on the bridge. Alex September 13th, 2009, 10:55 PM Looks like he flubbed the shift in some way, perhaps nailing the rear brake at the same time when he looked up and seeing the wall approaching. Some control input caused the bike to twist around on itself and wobble a few times, that wouldn't have happened even if there had been a unluckily placed gravel patch right there. rockNroll September 14th, 2009, 01:58 PM Looks like rear brake usage. The wheel locked and skidded to the right. Looks like he released the brake then applied it again just before he hit. bob706 September 14th, 2009, 02:19 PM I couldn't tell what caused the flub, but I kinda thought it didn't help his chances of making a turn when he stuck his left leg out before hitting the wall. empire00 September 14th, 2009, 07:33 PM messed up the shift followed by freezing up and target fixation |
