Ive seen this happen in a couple of motorcycle accident videos..

Looks like his rear tire slid out on some gravel or something and when it regained traction he caught a nasty wobble that made him lose it.

Edit: Let's wait and see what the experts have to say.

Looking at it again, he hit his brake.
Then panic and target fix kicked in.

Looks like he freaked and froze up when his back wheel lost traction.

It looks like he shifts up right before the back tire slid. He may have given it too much throttle and spun the back tire a bit. It also looks like he freaked out and got fixated on the bridge.

Looks like he flubbed the shift in some way, perhaps nailing the rear brake at the same time when he looked up and seeing the wall approaching. Some control input caused the bike to twist around on itself and wobble a few times, that wouldn't have happened even if there had been a unluckily placed gravel patch right there.

Looks like rear brake usage. The wheel locked and skidded to the right. Looks like he released the brake then applied it again just before he hit.

I couldn't tell what caused the flub, but I kinda thought it didn't help his chances of making a turn when he stuck his left leg out before hitting the wall.
