Every single time I apply a clear tank pad I can't get rid of the air bubbles no matter how I try. I must be doing something wrong.

Let's hear your remedy!

You might also try the window tint trick. Fill a squirt bottle with soapy water and have a small squeegy handy. Peel the backing off the tank pad and turn it upside down. Spray the pad with the soapy water mixture and place the pad on the tank. Start in the center of the pad and work your way out to the edges with the squeegy.

NOTE: I just read Steve's link after posting. Having never done the tank pad, I am just offering suggestions that work on other adhesive type applications. As long as the soapy mixture is forced from beneath the pad, I think it will be OK.
