Okay, folks. I'm getting a hankering for some takeout pizza, but don't want to take the car. Figure the best method is probably a couple of bungee cords criss-crossed over the pizza box, but would like to see if anyone has already figured it out so I may replicate it.

I think the toppings would slide all over the place. I drove home too fast from picking up up a pizza once, and all the cheese was on one side (this was in my Jeep, imagine a bike!)

Not worth it unless you have a top box that can accommodate the pizza.

Going through a hassle just for cold pizza just isn't worth it.

I'll do this scientifically (and intelligently)...

I'll get in the car, buy the pizza, and use the empty box to test. That way, even if I find out it doesn't work, I'll at least have the pizza. :D

Get several small pizzas and stack them on the bike. Smalls might not be too bad if you ride carefully, no knee dragging!

Take a huge tuperware with and place it inside your backapack and your good to go. I do this all the time, or when I'm have chinese for lunch I just order my two item combo.

Yeah the only way I can see it is if you take the slices apart and stack em smaller but that's probably not a good idea either.

This only works on a scooter.

I saw someone do this once. I didn't see closely enough to tell you how he did it other than I saw it on his gas tank. I wouldn't tie them down to strongly though as it will probably crush them.

I've tried strapping it to my tank bag and bungeeing a few on my tail. The large the box the more of a tendancy it has to curl and get cheese on the inside of the lid (or contact your plastics!).

Perhaps a stiff plastic tray underneath?

Personal Pan Pizza inside my tank bag with a large zip-loq bag (to keep grease off my other stuff) works well. :)

:rotflmao: Try putting it behind the windscreen and between your arms on top of the handlebars. When you're turning, your arms should stop the box, and your body/the bike should keep it from flying too far while starting and stopping. Just the first thing that came to mind. :D

Just lay the box on the tank, and your arms should hold it in place while turning. Every now and then you can readjust it.

I've done it on numerous occasions. :o

Cut the box into half fold the pizza in half and put it inside your jacket keeps you warm on the way home. Oh and you do have to put it the right way up.

Sounds like it could get more than a little, er, "sticky."

Pizza boxes can be flung like Frisbees.

Fling the pizza as far down the road as you can.

Get on your bike and ride to where it lands.

Repeat until you get home.

I've never tried getting pizza home, though I have stuck various food items down my jacket (loaf of Zingerman's bread, block of cheese, a bag of wrapped up sandwiches...).

Yeah, I often look like a shoplifter (like the kid in Animal House who goes throught the market checkout with steaks under his sweater) when i have something tucked under my jacket. I know its not the safest thing to do, but I try not to do it with glassware, knives, etc.

I fit everything in my tank bag and strap the rest and yet I still look like a shoplifter... usually when I try to see if everything will fit before I buy it! ;)

I usually just grab a backpack when making grocery runs and use my Tetris skills to make it all fit. One time I did wind up stuffing a bag of chocolate donuts under the windscreen tho. I'll definitely leave them IN the bag next time...

Pizza has been done with a dining hall tray (yay nearby campus) under the box with bungees holding it on to the back seat.

Just suggest taping the box shut if you try that method though...

I suppose it depends on a few factors like how far away the pizza place is to your destination of grubbage. Then of course there is the factor of the weather. This might be needed information to determine if the pizza would be cold.

If this is going to be a regular thing you might want to think about getting one of those heat insulated bags to put the pizza in, they have them at the grocery store but I am not sure how reusable those are after being on a motorcycle.

Something else I would suggest is getting a calzone or pizone or something like that, it is, essentialy a large pizza hot pocket. And usually can fit in any tank bag and you don't have to worry about toppings slipping around.

In my opinion it would be easier to jump in the car than gear all the way up to run and get pizza to bring home. Run to pizza and hang out with friends, different story.

Just eat the pizza there. You get a ride and get to eat.

Heres onother option. Stock your fridge with frozen pizza. There are some very good frozen pizza's out there. "Its not delivery, it's......"

I dont have a PIC of my Nate doing this, but it works!

If you have your passenger rear seat on, and have (2) 15"x15" (6 hooks) Bungie Cord Nets...

Take both nets and Hook them together (3 hooks, hooked too the other 3 hooks) so you end up with 1 large net.

Put your Hot n Ready centered ontop of your rear seat.

Hook the other hooks as far as they stretch, usually 1 on each side of the Bracket (next) too the Red reflectors (rear taillight), and 1 onto Each of those HOOKS that are stock on your bike, then stretch the last 2 onto each side of the bike onto the rear passenger foot peg "V"s!

If you have a OEM solo seat cowl, Subway 6" sub & 2 cookies (or their small bag of chips) WILL FIT under your seat cowl. It also WONT smash your food! :D as long as you Dont have anything also under the seat cowl, OTHER then your toolkit! :D

But chances are if you buy the 6" value meal, then youll have to stuff your 20 oz. Pop into your Jacket or hold it between your gas tanks & legs! (if your riding back to work)
