So how do you like the body positioning? Is it hard on the back?

If you're looking for a fender eliminator, Evo Tech makes a very nice one.

I put one on my 08 (got it on ebay)and love it. For the 09 it uses the stock tag light and turn sigs

sweet ride. i really like the monster edition. as far as the left wrist/forearm pain, maybe you could try getting a tank grip. that way, you can squeeze it with your legs and use less pressure on your wrists. helps me with my bike... although mine isn't as aggressively positioned as yours.

Im going to look into that. Because of the aggresive position, im taking somewhat of a beating on my forearm... thanks for the tip. BTW, that one sided swing arm on the VFR800A is freakin awesome!! Im a HUGE HUGE fan of the one sided swing arms! Great look!

thanks for the compliment. i really like the single swingarm too... next to the relatively comfortable riding positions for the operator and passenger, the single swingarm is my favorite feature. too bad it doesn't also have a single sided front fork like the yamaha gts 1000. now that would be pretty sick.

Yea,the clutch pull will get you for a couple days. A little more effort to pull than the ninjette.

Tell me about it man, the wind has been cold here (well for CA anyway) and my arms been in pain, but a pain well worth it... he he..

I've seen these before but I just started to wonder... how does it pass feedback from the bars to the front tire for turning?

lol... that was such a stupid advertisement.

hey drumr9. i have been wondering. i heard that many kawasakis have that whistling gas tank vent like the 250s. does your monster do that as well?

drumr9
November 3rd, 2009, 12:23 AM
Interesting... to be honest, i don't remember hearing it on my 250, or maybe i just didnt pay attention, I haven't heard any whistling... then again, I haven't had it that long, but yeah so far no whistling...

And yeah that was some advertisement, Yamaha completely lost it!

no whistling on the 250? man, mine was like a tea kettle. especially on hot days. it was embarrassing at stop lights and people would look strangely at me like "wtf is that sound?" i did the fix which helped a bit, but it still happened from time to time.

looking at your pic again, i just realized that the monster has the "ninja" and "kawasaki" swapped. looks a bit odd, but it is just because i am used to it being the other way.

i had a black 250 and was thinking of doing the "monster" make over, but decided against it. some people on this site did it and it came out really nice.

We've firmly established that CA "50-state" bikes rarely do it. Many may never do it at all. 49-state bikes are probably darn-near 100% though. :D

Hey, you're right it is backwards, I didnt even notice that, but i just looked online and all the 09 monster zx6r are like that, i wonder why?? hmm.....

I personally like the monster look, especially the rims, im sure its not hard to put the stripes, but im a spaz and would probably have squigly stripes... everything is clear coated on which is cool, except the M on the seat cowl, but thats really not a big deal for me (especially since i got it for free, lol)

I saw a red 250 the other day on this site with a black Monster "M", it did look great!

much appreciated Andrew.. it is a cool seat, REALLY bright... haha

Very nice! I've got the same bike, just not the monster edition.

The key to getting over your arm and wrist pain is to support yourself with your core. Try to put very little weight on your arms. You'll be surprised at how well this works. I've been on several rides of 200 miles and more with no discomfort at all (well, maybe a little in the butt :p).

As for the fender eliminator, it's pretty easy to just make one and save yourself some $$. I bought a universal plate mount and some angle brackets. I used the reflector mount to hook up the stock turn signals. Looks pretty good, but I think I might switch out the stock turn signals for something a little smaller.
