Anyone with race-prepped 400 care to share its weight with 1-gal of petrol?

I don’t know how much my bike weighs now with some of the weight measures I have taken. Stock the bike weighs 462 lbs non ABS model.

Stock exhaust 11lbs......Delkevic full system 3.5 lbs
Stock battery 6.4 lbs.......after market lithium ion battery Less than 1 pound, so we will just say 1 lb.
Stock handle bars solid metal weight unknown.....Vortex clip ons much lighter
Stock rear sets and passenger pegs weight unknown..... after market rear sets much lighter.

I still have the stock body plastics on for now. So I will say my bike is around 350 lbs or less! Weight makes a huge difference with the smaller bikes, the less weight the better on the track!

I took my 2009 250R from 372lbs down to 310-lbs with tossing pretty much all stock parts except for frame, tank, engine, carbs and seat. And also includes chopping unnecessary parts of frame off. Lighter wheels & tyres. Hollow chromoly axles. Ti and alloy nuts & bolts liberally sprinkled around.

Was gathering data on what’s possible with 400 to determine if I want to build one for next season. No one inspects or protests 250s so I can bend rules liberally. But Ninja 400s caused quite an upset this year with times that puts them in top 5-10 of every class! Anyone with 400 seems to have spotlight on them. :)

That’s awesome weight savings to get a n250 down to 310lbs! As we know WEIGHT is crucial on these bikes. I ride with some guys who race R3s and are well over 200 lbs. I weigh 175 and I destroy them in the straights. They catch up too me in the turns and I walk away from them again in the straights. My friend has a stock 400 and he weighs around 200 even. Whenever the bikes are upright I pull away from him. This is on the track of course.
So this tells me I need to get better in the turns and lose a few more pounds!!!!:bounce: My 1st season on the 400, awesome track weapon!

Heh, heh... I love doing that on my 250. Gonna have best of both worlds with 400 I think. I've lost 40-lbs in past 3-years to 180lbs. Gonna try for another 20 before next season.

I appears Kawi already did lots of weight-optimization, so I don't think I'll be able to chop off as much weight from 400 as I did on 250.

Are you still using 150 rear tyre? Seems lots of folks go to 140 to better match 4.0 rear wheel.

WOW that’s awesome riding! You were doing work on that 250! Nothing like passing a big bike on a little bike! I love that feeling. I am coming down from a GSXR 750 to a GSXR 600 to a N400 and a N250. I will be riding the SMALL bikes at the track mostly in 2020! Just more fun on a small bike.

Yes I am still using a 150 rear on the 400, some of my friends are using the 140 on their R3s and 400s. I will try it when my current 150 wears out. I will be using the 140 on the N250.

My 300 race bike was 291 lbs with the fuel light blinking. Curious to see where my 400 comes in at
