View Full Version : 2 to 1 exhaust? lsvtec_hatchback February 25th, 2010, 07:31 AM does neone have or ne company offer the 2 to 1 piping without the canister for the pre-gen bikes lsvtec_hatchback February 25th, 2010, 10:46 AM also what brand and what stage or size main jets would i need after an exhaust and putting the uni pod filters on. thanks for ne help ive had my bike for a while but havent really thought about doing nething to it. dont really no much about them. im bored i finished themotor and stuff in my car and need something new to tinker with mikedabike64 February 25th, 2010, 11:41 AM i have a muzzy on the header, but a york shorty as a canister with stage 1 dyno jets, no pods. stock filter. there are a lot of universal cans out there that could fit your stock pipes. once you know the outside diameter you can look around to see what slips on over it. I wonder what a stock exhaust with 2 shorty cans exiting left and right would look like maybe you'd be the 1st to have 2 shortys on a 250. http://www.ninjette.org/forums/album.php?albumid=258http://www.ninjette.org/forums/album.php?albumid=258&pictureid=3126 lsvtec_hatchback February 25th, 2010, 12:59 PM but dont really like the dual exhaust would rather have single. thats y i was wondering if there were 2 into 1 header pipes for the 07 so i could put the universal slip on on. my buddies mess with bikes all the time and they ave made some themselves that look decent but doubt they work effeciently and dont really want pipes with welds every couple of inches. lsvtec_hatchback February 25th, 2010, 02:49 PM ive been reading is there really any gain from pod filters. cause im starting to c alot of issues after people have removed air box added pod filters and exhaust. with rejetting causing surging, bogging, and stuff. if i just went with an exhaust would rejetting b needed. if jetting is necessary do u have get the whole kit or r the mains all that need replacing. sorry for all the noob questions just dont want o put the money into the bike and have running issues. Verus Cidere February 25th, 2010, 03:33 PM You might be able to buy a single header assembly from Area-P. I'm not sure if they would do this, but they're fairly reasonable. Go shoot 'em an email and find out. http://www.areapnolimits.com sombo February 25th, 2010, 03:51 PM Well Area P does make a 2-1 header for the F model, but it's a bit larger diameter mid-pipe. I'm running a Yoshimura 2-1 exhaust but they don't manufacture it anymore. You might be able to find one on ebay or craigslist maybe. Muzzy also makes a 2-1 header for the F model, but again it's mid-pipe is bigger and runs hot making it necessary to adjust your lower fairing to keep it from melting. Apex March 13th, 2010, 04:11 PM I vote for a tig welder and some spare pipe. GeorgiaHooligan March 24th, 2010, 04:45 PM when I bought my bike , the previous owner did a two to one conversion (one muzzy), one pipe welded to headers, can easily be done. GeorgiaHooligan March 24th, 2010, 04:46 PM the bike sounds great, alot of people are real suprised that its a 250 after hearing it. good luck with the mod GeorgiaHooligan March 24th, 2010, 04:47 PM you can apply Heat tape to the inside of your fairing ( as applied onto my bike). Iv had no probs with melting. JeffM March 25th, 2010, 05:03 PM Take a look here for a two into one project that used existing 250 parts (yes he even built his own canister): http://forums.ninja250.org/viewtopic.php?t=77926&highlight=exhaust+pipe |
