Given the pessimistic forecast for Thailand and the mostly wet start on Friday, conditions on Saturday morning were a pleasant surprise for the lightweight class, with a fully dry track for the first time this weekend. Times were predictably quick to tumble and it was eventually Dennis Foggia who improved the all time lap record on his final flying lap. While most of his rivals were busy seeking a slipstream, the Leopard riders worked together to bring the Italian to the fore, while Tatsuki Suzuki settled for sixth.
