So I rolled the 10k mile mark and I still haven't done a valve adjustment. The bike seems to be running tip top, but i still want to do the adjustment for my peace of mind. I am 100% confident in my mechanical abilities but i've never adjusted a shim-under-bucket valve. If someone would be willing to ride over and 'supervise' the job I would be really grateful-like 6 pack of beer or $20 grateful...

I've never done it either but will have to in 2000Mi.
Let me know if you want some company on it. I'd be interested to see how it goes down. The engine is the only good thing left on my bike right now. :D
