Hi

I'm in the market for real tires to ditch my RCIs.
Being that I plan on taking the bike to Gratten a couple of times, I've been thinking about getting the 003s.

What size fron and rear sould I get???

Also, what tire pressure should I start out with?

Thanks!

Tom

Get the 110 front and 140 rear. I run 25psi cold on both ends.

Are they as awesome as I think they are? :D

What kind of pressure do you run on the street and how long do they last you?
Thanks :)

The tires are great, I haven't found their limits yet.

I don't ride this bike on the street so I can't help you there. BT-003s would be my choice if I had an '08+ streetbike. They would be lousy in the rain though.

I thought 003-s are the race and 003rs-s are the street tires ???

BT-003s are all DOT approved tires which means they are legal for street use.

The BT-003r is available in different compounds i.e. soft, medium, hard. This allows you to select the compound that best suits the track, bike, conditions.

The BT-003rs does not have compound choices.

The BT-003rs comes in sizes that properly fit the 2008+ 250 Ninja while the BT-003 does not.

I've found the BT-003rs type more than adequate for race use on my 250r.

While these tires would not make a good high mileage touring tire the safety of the added grip would make these my street tire choice. In fact I will be putting my race take-offs on my street bike. I would not choose this tire if you ride in the rain as I would imagine the wet weather performance to be very poor. I avoid riding in the rain whenever possible so this is not a factor for me.

Finally let me say that the tire manufacturers use of the terms: street, street/track, race, etc. are purely marketing and usually meaningless. Get your info. from experienced riders who actually test/use the tires.

Im running the BT003r.....120 front 150 rear....awesome tires....I'd go 140 in the rear...150 is a bit tight for some people not me as I love the look and feel....I've never ran my bike in the rain and don't plan to.....in the canyon these tires are amazing and worth it...

My 150 BT003...something i've noticed is that since I have the 120 in the front the bike sits higher than a 250 that is stock...my bike is the 3rd one....

My 140 rear 110 front BT-003s. The tires may not have the "wide" look but I like that the profile isn't pinched and that I have maximum contact on the edges, no chicken strips on the rear and just a tiny one on the front.

Ok, 110 140 it is.

I have eliminated the rear chicken strips on my stock RCIs doing on ramps LOL
I don't think I can eliminate the front though... No way.

Rode Grattan many times on the 250. I run BT-16s 110 / 150-60 works great and lasts and lasts. Fine for the rain which is something to think about because most trackday orgs run rain or shine.
