So I'm looking for some new gear (specifically a helmet, overpants, and a leather jacket).

Right now I have a spidi mesh jacket, scorpion exo700 helmet, and my normal jeans with icon field armor underneath. I need help on my upgrades/updates.

I really want a leather jacket, but I want it to be able to fit a CE approved back armor.
I was looking at some alpine stars leathers for $230-250. Also scorpion has some nice leathers (not sure about the back situation on them) for $199. I believe its called Scorpion All In? Any other recommendations within $250 for a decent pair of leathers?

As for helmet, I'm not sure what I want. I really like my current scorpion so was considering the Exo1000. Also considering a Shoei rf1100 and an Arai Profile. I also heard that Suomy is good? Im looking to spend a max of 400 on this so Arai seems very costly.

As for riding overpants, I was looking at Scorpion Duece Overpants? They have CE approved knee and hip armor I believe. Anyone know any other good overpants with CE approved knee armor?

Any advice would be great, thanks so much!

I pointed you to that site, because they do a bang up job of reviewing almost every product they sell. Very valuable consumer info there.

As far as people's opinions... they are just that... opinions and should not sway you from buying what you research out to be the best product for you.

As far as helmets, my advice is to buy what fits your head shape properly and not base your decision on looks, price or other people's input. A proper fitting helmet is by far the best investment you can make from a safety perspective. if you can, try it on at a shop/dealer.

Buy whatever you like and more importantly fits you right, I myself see no need for a leather jacket as I don't do trackdays, the quality of the textile jackets are awsome now. To think 20 years ago with my first ninja I was riding with a freaking windbreaker and jeans for gear.

great deal on a highly reviewed jacket with the features you're looking for. if it was fall instead of summer here in florida i'd be all over this. as it is i wouldn't need it for six months.
