MotoGP Assen TT free practice results on Thursday show Fiat Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo leading the timesheets, with Casey Stoner and Nicky Hayden in second and third respectively (http://www.sportrider.com/news/146_1006_motogp_assen_tt_netherlands_thursday_free_practice_results/index.html)Fiat Yamaha’s Jorge Lorenzo continued the momentum from his Silverstone win by topping the first practice timesheets at the Netherlands’ Assen TT circuit on Thursday, in preparation for the MotoGP race on Saturday (the Assen race has historically always been held on Saturday, not Sunday as with all the other events). Hot on Lorenzo’s heels was Ducati Marlboro’s Casey Stoner, only 0.011 seconds behind, with teammate Nicky Hayden trailing by another 0.506 seconds. Monster Tech 3 Yamaha’s Colin Edwards was also on the pace, trailing Hayden by only 0.013 seconds. Teammate Ben Spies was glad to be at a circuit he recognizes (the WSBK series runs at Assen as well) and set a time only 0.243 seconds behind Edwards.
