Hemi4cs February 22nd, 2011, 05:30 PM front marker delete and slight fender trim.. biggest changes is that flat black, man what a difference CZroe February 22nd, 2011, 06:56 PM front marker delete and slight fender trim.. biggest changes is that flat black, man what a difference Indeed, the fender trim is exactly what I imagined the bike needed all along, but I kinda liked blue better. :( The only problem with blue is that it highlights the dated-looking seat-shape unless you get a matching seat cover or sport cowl, and makes the headlight look that much worse with the windscreen suddenly ending on a squared-off headlight. I imagine that painting the outer bubble of a double-bubble windscreen would solve that but, once again, going black is much easier than matching! Now that it's black, you can also re-shape the front headlight to look like dual lights with a little electrical tape. Anyway, what I meant about the mesh was that the side mesh appears to be missing after you re-shaped the fender. I kinda liked it. :( I plan to add mesh to my new-gen but I'm going to paint it black. I bought the hexagonal mesh last year and the sheet I experimented with is already rusting in my room! mikesova February 22nd, 2011, 08:03 PM I'm loving that seat where can i get one? looks like the stock seat w/ some type of band around it. choneofakind February 22nd, 2011, 08:11 PM oops I didnt look closely enough. nevermind I do like the front fender trim. I really like the look of the shaved passenger grab-bar. I am thinking about chopping mine soon. Could you take a close-up of that so I can see where you cut it? Also, what did you use to cut it? Blackwidow April 8th, 2011, 02:32 PM love the matte black. Good job! :) Goneape July 20th, 2011, 08:45 PM I'm buying an 03 this weekend that's umm.... seen some time on the ground. I was thinking of giving it the liner treatment like you did, but before I do, I thought I'd ask how well it's been holding up for you since it's been on there a little bit now. Any problems with flaking or anything like that? Also, any tips for prep or application would be awesome. blink July 26th, 2011, 03:21 PM It'd be awesome if you wrote a thread/blog about how to paint your bike. Every step, materials etc. Loving the matte! |
