Well I did it, I picked up another bike something a bit different than the norm. I love sport bikes I always will but I wanted something a bit more laid back, easy to work on, and unique. So I picked up a 97 Suzuki Savage with 6300 miles for $850. For those of you who don't know anything about the savage it is a belt driven cruiser introduced by Suzuki in the 80's, air cooled big bore 650 single with 5 speed tranny (4 speed on earlier models). Damn bike sounds like a helicopter going down the road with its drilled out stock exhaust.

Why? Cause I like old school thumpers.

Those are cool! How 'bout a vid to share this "chopper" sensation? I too like cruisers. I have a Vulcan 1500 that will turn into a bobber eventually...

How do you like this? I am looking for one now. Anybody else have good stuff to say about the Savage/S40?

Savage / Boulevards are great bikes. Extremely comfortable, nice torque feel and pretty light from what I remember. I rode a LS650 4 speed for a awhile before it got run over at a gas station (small tank, 2 gallons or something) after I went in to grab a drink. lol

Ive had many a cruisers and sport bikes, you got a good deal son. I like the single cylinders as well. Ive had a vstar 1100 and Vulcan 1500. They things were BEASTLY. I hope you like it. If you get tired of it you can always make a bobber <3
